air leak left front

I've got an air leak in the left front, up high kind of behind the left
headlight. Any ideas what
it might be? Are any air lines accessible by opening up the headlight door?
Saturday it was
leaking periodically when the coach was aired up, now it seems to be leaking all
the time. I
can get the pitch to change by wiggling the big bunch of wires and hoses up
behind the
bumper but the leak is higher than can be accessed from underneath. Advice?

Kerry,

Open up the front panel. Yours may be the same or similar to our '87 PT.
Behind that panel I found Clippard air/12V controls leaking air as well
as the manifolds they are screwed into. I changed out the Clippard
controls for new ones, tightened up the leaking manifold plugs and all
is good. Could be all that's needed is to cut off a quarter inch of the
leaking black small diameter tube(s) and re-insert them.

Do you have the air system schematic(s) for your Bird? Call Bennie at
Blue Bird and request them.

It sounds like your vacum generator is leaking. Look for a small
round aluminium object in the air line. It uses air to create a vacum(
ventrui method) for the crusie control. If the vacum is leaking off
the unit will need to operate more often.

It is a vacuum leak off the cruise control canister on the engine. Check
to make sure the tube did not come off.
