Air Problem (suspension/brakes)

Hello fellow birders,

I spent the past few days down in Huntington Beach with the BB, and
when I was preparing to leave the coach would only hold about 30 PSI
of air (as registered on the gauge). Not even enough to air up the
suspension. This was at high idle for about 10 minutes. I shut
everything down, and listened for obvious leaks, and heard some
rather faint hissing inside the engine compartment, somewhere in the
area of the generator (forward-most area of the engine - up high).
It only lasted for a minute or so, until the pressure was relieved.

I was getting ready to take up the engine hatch underneath the bed,
and before I went to all that trouble, I felt lucky. I restarted
the coach, and to my surprise, the air pressure built up like
normal, and stayed that way for the 30 mile ride home...it seems OK
for now.

Question...Any ideas what happened at the beach? Why would it "fix
itself" ? Or, am I just lucky.

Where do I start looking? And if it's not leaking down now, how do
I know where to look? Is there something on or near the compressor
(relief valve) that just stuck open? Dirt? I'm at a loss.

I suggest replacing the pressure regulator on the air compressor,
last one I bought was around $20 and fairly easy to do.
