Diesel Motorhome???
A friend sent this to me from his forum...
This is circulating around other forums..(gas) What you guys think? Stephen 81 FC-33SB ------------------------------------------------------------ To: MotorhomesP-30GM@yahoogroups.com From: "steadeeeddie" Date: Sun, 26 Nov 2006 15:22:21 -0000 Subject: [MotorhomesP-30GM] So ya say ya want a Diesel Pusher.... Maybe this'll change your mind. You need to get out on IRV2 or RV.net Forums and check out what the new, Federally-mandated Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel Fuel is doing to the rubber seals in the fuel systems of the Diesel Engines. The rubber o-rings are being eaten up, and then the system looks like a diesel water sprayer. It is a VERY expensive problem for those DP Owners affected, as they must dis-assemble things and re-seal stuff. No one on the Forums has yet to discuss what happens at 70-MPH when the system begins shooting Diesel Fuel all over inside the engine bay..?... Steady Eddie Moderator The_P12_Chassis_Group @ Yahoo! Diesel Motorhome???
There have been a fair number of threads on the Mercedes diesel forum of people
having seal problems and leaks as a result of ULSD. I had some leaks in my fuel lines that may have been correlated with a tank of ULSD. Lots of pump seals going bad on newer models. Diesel Motorhome???
I think California has required the low sulphur diesel fuel since
September and none of the California resident 'bird owners have described any problems. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... Diesel Motorhome???
Dont believe that post. Steadie Eddie is a P30 GM chassis lover. He
took some in formation from another forum and enhnced it. Actually it is alot more than enhancement. I read the posts on RV.Net. A few ( not hundreds) Cummins owners have had problems with the lift pump leaking. Apparently there is one gasket that the new fuel attacks. This is an electric pump and is not serviceable. I imagine it is also not cheap. The sky is not falliong yet! Bruce FC35 |
