Windshield Wipers wouldn't turn on on my 1985 PT-40

Traced the problem to the solonoid behind the Hinged panel on the drivers side
with the wiper mounted to it. The main contacts in the solonoid weren't making
contact. Replaced it and now have windshield wipers and auxillary pump working
again. Sure this has happened to someone but the first time for me. We are in
Charlotte,NC and it has been raining everyday. The Drivers AC fan controls were
also controlled by this solonoid.
