Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
Mine is under the bed near the water pump. The Sporlan valve is probably stuck
with some crud inside. Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
Kevin,
I've experience the same issue. Sounds like the Sporlan Valve, located near the water tank. The valve is controlled by the "fill tank" switch. Our coach has the walk-around bed, water tank is under the bed, the sporlan valve is on the drivers side of the water tank. Remove the four screws around the electro-magnet. Remove the rubber diaphragm. Using a screw driver, stuff a small rag into the opening to stop the water flow. Clean out any foreign matter, usually white stuff. Carefully remove any foreign matter from the diaphragm. Reassemble and all should be good. One small piece of crud will stop these valves from working. About a 20 minute project. Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
This is the infamous Sporlan Valve. Locations vary (mine is in the
last compartment on the wall toward the rear of the coach on the curb side (opposite side from where the fill switch is). In some older coaches, it's under the bed. Perhaps someone with a year closer to yours will know. Pete Masterson '95 Blue Bird Wanderlodge WBDA 42 aeonix1@... Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
I found the valve and removed the diaphram and cleaned it up as Curt
described, but still no affect. I did check the voltage from the outside switch -- it is good. I need some value 101. It appears that the voltage is applied to fill the tank, but I don't understand how this valve directs the water flow, and with no voltage (switch in off position) what should happen? And any other ideas? Again thanks. Kevin Richmond TX '82 PT-40 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Curt Sprenger > > Kevin, > > I've experience the same issue. Kevin,
Put your fingers around that Sporlan valve, as someone flips the switch On/Off/On/Off. You should be able to feel and hear the solenoid activate the valve diaphram. Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
Kevin,
Have you looked in the files section of the forum at document named Sporlan Valve 30-11.pdf ? It describes the Sporlan Valve parts, sequence of operation and lists common causes of failures. Water Fill Value Problem (PT-40)
I looked at the drawing mentioned by Mike and found I had put the
plunger upside down. So it appears to be fixed now with the cleaning and putting it back together correctly. Thanks everyone!
