1992 WB40 Air tanks, were are they?
I am trying to locate the air tanks on my coach and can not find
them. I have been under the front axle and don't recall seeing any, and don't remember seeing any when I was under the rear adjusting the airbag ride height valve, but I might have been to amazed by the sight of that cross beam (it's huge on the tag to have noticed anything else. So I'm at a loss. Are they located somewhere in the enclosed area under the coach? I have some manual water purge valves with lanyards that I want to install on the wet and main tanks. I assume they currently have auto- purge valves on them now, but I have had those go bad on SOB in the past. Michael Brundridge 1992 WB40 Georgetown, TX |

Just sent you large file with BB drawings that might help let me know if you don't get them Steve Quandt Iron Mountain, MI 1993 PT-40 _____ From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of mbrund Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 2:38 PM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] 1992 WB40 Air tanks, were are they? 1992 WB40 Air tanks, were are they?
Michael,
Good luck! Carefully block the frame up. Crawl way to the centerline of the bus in front of the drive axle. Look straight up and to either side. You will see two of the air tanks on either side. They are way tucked up in there! Manual purge valves unless someone changed them. NOT a fun place to be if you are claustrophobic. Hope your arms are longer than mine! If your air dryer is working right, you won't get much out of them. I don't remember having to have messed with the front one. As I recall(?) on the 91, the front one is tucked up behind the front axle? Someone else will know for sure. Hope you have a pit! 1992 WB40 Air tanks, were are they?
Mike,
Thanks for the hint. No I have no pit, only have two 20-ton jacks and looking to make a set of blocks out of new 2x10 or 2x12 (don't trust old railroad ties). Or if I can find some decent jack stands that can hold the earth , I meant BB I will get those as well. My concern as I found out lately from the prior owner is that he NEVER serviced the dryer in the ten years he owned it, and they put more than 100K on it. So I am not sure what to expect, but know that I want to drain them and service or replace the dryer for sure. Probably also need to service the compressor, or at least make sure the screen is clean. 1992 WB40 Air tanks, were are they?
Steve,
Thanks for the electronic copies, those will come in handy. I have the hard copies, but they are not always at the house for me to look at as I forget and leave them in the coach when at storage.
