All owners of 450Lxi Bluebirds that monitor this board, lets get some inherent
issues with our buses resolved. I personally want to get a contact list of as many owners together, so we can find solutions to thes issues and resolve the problems. Thanks Dan 05 450Lxi San Marcos, CA |

The forum would be a good place to document such a list. start a
thread with issues and a good subject line so it is archived for future reference. What beter a place for folks to find solutions to issues and to add insight to a fix then a forum search.I am looking to get a 05 or 08 in ten years or so, hope you guys share the wealth of tried and proven solutions. A good way to search all of Yahoo forums is to use a google search and put an address to the searchphrase ( google seems to give better results) enter Wanderlodge 8v92 oil site:yahoo.com no space between "site:(address) this will yield results from all of the yahoo forums GregoryO'Connor 94ptRomolandCa --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Dan and Cindy Sunderland" <86bluebird@...> wrote: > > All owners of 450Lxi Bluebirds that monitor this board, lets get some inherent issues with > our buses resolved. Hi Jerry
We have had electrical charging problems from the chassis ayatem (Alternators). BB has resolved this problem. Buddy Trussel is the engineer who got the problem resolved. We had a lot of small items, too many to mention here. Contact me off line. 760-744 -1621. Still have a leveling problem with the Hadley system. I am going to contact them personally and try to resolve if possible. We lean to the road side between 1/2 and 5 hours after leveling. We have a blowby problem with the CAT. CAT is working on the problem. Not resolved yet. Weight issue on the front axle. GVWR is 16000lbs. We weigh loaded 18300lbs. Coachworks is working on the problem with Bluebird bus company. Not resolved yet. My concern is we have to have our front tires inflated to 130lbs to carry this weight and this only covers us to 9090 per tire. Wheels are only rated to 9000 each. We just drove 2200 miles with this air pressure in the front tires and the coach rides hard and the bumps and holes are jaw shaking. I am looking into asking Hadley if we can move some weight off the front end to the drive axle by lowering the tag axle pressure. I do not know how to do this as the system is mostly computerized. There in lies the problem. The coach drives like a dream and handles better than anything on the road. We just need to get a few things resolved. Complete Coachworks is doing a great job and hopefully will get this resolved. I would like to know if this problem exists with all the 450s. Most owners are not on any forums. One thing I would like to ad is --anyone owning a coach with a C13 CAT engine should check in with a warranty station, or call the CAT RV hotline from their web page and make sure their motor has all the current updates. Mine needed 4 and a dipstick calibration. The motor was being over filled by 2 quarts of oil. All 450 owners need to get to a warranty station and have their engine checked out. thanks for the inquiry Dan 2005 4540Lxi San MArcos, CA --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "JERRY SMITH" <medpro@...> wrote: > > Dan, curious as to what type problems you have been having, since I have a > 2005 LXI? > > Jerry Smith > 2005 450 LXI > Sarasota, Fl. > > -------Original Message------- > > From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com > Date: 12/22/07 10:46:08 > To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] 450lxi owners > > All owners of 450Lxi Bluebirds that monitor this board, lets get some > inherent issues with > our buses resolved. Dan, have had no problems with leveling. Have had electrical as my 50 amp
EMS by Intellilec in the bedroom does not light up at all. Does yours light up when plugged in? Thanks for the info on Cat. I will contact them for any update. There is Cat dealer about 20 miles from me. I do believe the front axle weight carrying capacity is a problem. Let me know if you find out anything. I do plan to go up to Ft. Valley, Ga. in the next couple of months. I agree drives like a dream. I previously had two Country Coaches and an American Eagle. No comparison in the quietness and smooth drive. Thanks and stay in touch. I will do the same. Hi Dan,
Any chance of upgrading to 10.5 inch wheels and 365/70/22.5 tires? Prevost' often run front axle weights similar to yours and have been using the 365 tires for quite some time. I wouldn't get my hopes up on tag axle pressure adjustment fixing your problem. With a wheelbase as long as the 450's you could competely remove the tag axle and the decrease on the front axle would only be a few hundred pounds. Give me the axle weights and wheelbase and I'll tell you more precisely how much weight transfer you can expect. My 50 amp Intellitec appears to be ok. I need to read up on the whole
Intellitec system so as to try and understand the system. Allen Barbee told me you have to add the current numbers front and rear to get total current, I have not confirmed this yet. PLan on tesing total current through the shore power cable when I get a chance. We are having some hot water issues when on 30 amp. Do not know why. Air leveling--when you have air (SLS) on do you leave the set button illuminated? or turn it off? Hi,
After the SLS sytem has done its thing and the set light has illuminated steadily, I think you should press set again. This turns off the light and puts the SLS into "Standby mode to save battery" I don't know why it doesn't just say to press SLS and turn it off. The "learn " level reset button is inside 1st bay curb side. Hot water is 2nd from the top on the top EMS panel . It sheds off second to the air compressor when over 30 amps is called for. My lower EMS panel occasionally sheds off completely for no reason with 50 AMPS. Reset inverter or the main breaker on the upper right sub panel and all is well again. 450lxi owners
Dan, thanks for reply. I do as Ross indicates and turn off the SLS. Don't
know about the hot water problem. I need to read up on the whole Intellitec system so as to try and understand the system.
