1970 pusher?

Scott
According to Harvey Lawrences history, on vintagebirds.com there were 9 of these pushers built in 1969. Looks to be legit, and this one appears to be in pretty fair shape.

Was such a thing made? Or is this a pusher schoolie that someone
converted?

Looks legit to me, and I've puttered with some very early Wanderlodges. Guy is about 15 grand too high on price, but other than that, it's pretty neat.

That looks like a schoolie conversion to me. Especially with the wood cabinets. Looks like a lot of work went into that. I wish our PTs had engine access like that.

There used to be a picture of one hanging at Earle's desk when they
were located at the large parts building next to the WL plant (4-5
years ago?). I had asked Earle about it at the time and he confirmed
that they had built a very few. I don't recall how many if more than
one......

The 'history' page at Vintage Birds states that in 1969 "Produced 9
units that were a pusher type with a Ford gas engine, thirty-five
feet in length. Very rare." This may be one of those units repowered
with the 3208.

Looking at the photos, the cabinetry seems similar to that used in
the FCs -- but the cabinet handles look different that what I recall
for the vintage. (Look like home-style handles, and I recall a more
'boat type' look in the older FCs I've seen -- but I haven't seen
inside any FCs quite that old either.)

The paint looks very BB standard for the era and other features look
more "factory" rather than do-it-yourself -- unless a very good
craftsman was involved. I suppose the only way to know for sure is
for someone who's knowledgeable about 'birds of that vintage to take
an in person look.

I've looked at a number of older FC's and I think it is a
Wanderlodge. I might be wrong but regardless it's and interesting
one.
