Heater replacement suggestions needed

I need to replace 2 of the LP heaters in my coach. I am considering
installing a hydronic diesel fired heater and junking the LP units.
Anyone made this change? Any experience with the Proheat model, this
looks like the simplest option.

Sorry, forgot to mention that last week we traded our Bird for a
Newell. Found a coach that had 90% of the features we wanted so we
made the deal. Since the knowledge on this forum is the best I've
found anywhere I hope you don't mind me asking for additional help.

That ideea sounds like a good project. If you have the space to add that
system, that would be the only limitation I can think about.

I installed Proheats in my toter and FC. Cost about the same for the boiler as
two LP heaters. You can make your own convectors with automotive heater cores
and computer cooling fans to save money. I use the convectors provided by Red
Dot, they have extensive HVAC options, you might want to check their offerings.
The Red Dot convectors start at 125 bucks and go up 500 for a 50k btu. Fuel
Systems in Brookfield WI is a good supplier for both product lines 262 781 4353.
Dan or Shawn are knowledgeable fellows.
As a side light, got the truck out of the barn yesterday, sitting there since
October 05, Trace inverter plugged in. Started the proheat in the morning,
fired it up after lunch, heat gage on 150 degrees, ran like I used it day
before. I hate starting a cold engine, and boilers do a better job than
electric pre heaters as they heat the whole system.

Did you install the Proheat into the existing motoraid heaters or
build a complete new loop? If installed in the existing loop does
anything special need to be done when the big motor is running and
heating the coolant? The computer cooling fans is a geat idea, they
can be very quite and move a decent amount of air.

Added it to the engine supply/return loop. Placed the boiler in the RF
compartment, right under the front dash heater core. Parallel with the electric
engine heater, or it could replace the plug in heater. Learn where your engine
supply and return coolant points are, that's critical. I have had good luck
with my boilers, just don't make the fuel supply line too long. I feed mine off
the gen set with check valves for the gen set and the boiler. When I run the
gen set the boiler sucks air and shuts off. I think I need to increase the
diameter of the supply pipe to the boiler, only running 1/4", I'll try going up
to half or 5/8 to see if that helps. If you have the option keep the boiler as
close as possible to the fuel tank and have a dedicated fuel supply line.
Using the booster pump it easily keeps the stock heater loop up to temp. The
Proheat has a circulation pump and with the coach unit it provides plenty of
coolant flow.
