best camping guidebook
What are people's opinion on best camping guidebooks? We like to stay
in state, local and national park campgrounds if possible yet many guidebooks seem to leave out these locales and focus instead on commercial campgrounds. I used to have a guidebook from the 70's that was comprehensive but I seem to have misplaced it and am looking for a comprehensive substitute. Kerry 82 FC 35 |

best camping guidebook
Kerry:
We came across an excellent resource last year called "RV Camping in State Parks" by D.J. Davin, pa 2004 publication by Roundabout Publications, P.O. Box 19235, Lenexa, KS 66285; phone: 800-455-2207. The book contains a summary for each state regarding the number of state parks with RV campgrounds and the amenities generally available. State maps are provided to aid in finding the parks. In addition, details for each state park include location, general directions and contact information including each park's phone number. You'll also learn how many RV sites are available, the number of sites that have water and electric hookups and sites with full hookups. We have used this resource a number of times and find that it is invaluable. Best wishes.
