How often should the water holding tank be sanitized?
Just wondering how often a holding tank should be cleaned. When not
in use I leave it empty, but all the water may not come out I dont
know. I guess it would depent on use? normally I use water from a
external scource but often have to use the holding water.

As you say, it depends... we do it a minimum of twice
a year.

Keep in mind it is best not to run disinfectant thru
the filter medium; that means you will need to find a
way to bypass the filter and get the product directly
into the storage tank(s), such as by adding a plumbing
"T" to the existing tank overflow and permanently
attaching a flexible, cap-able hose line.

For know until I put a access plate or such I have just disconnected
the overflow and put it directly in the tank. Does the water filter
after the holding tank or prior when filling. when I run water thru
the lines after put disinfectant there doesn't seem to be any odor
so I wonder if it is being filtered after it leaves the holding tank?

How often should the water holding tank be sanitized?
Typically, the incoming water from the shore
connection first enters the filter and then enters the
holding tank. Therefore, your method appears to
bypass the filter.

Perhaps the fact you have no apparent odor, or
discoloration (decidedly grey), indicates lack of
strength of the disinfectant. You might consider
using household chlorine, let is sit for an hour, then
flush it thru the lines and drain the tank. Next,
fill the tank 1/2 full of water, add a cup or two of
household vinegar, and flush thru the lines and drain.
The final rinse of the lines and tank should do it.

Good luck,

John
