What's in your spare parts compartment for on-the-road problems?
Trying to put a list together and don't want to forget anything. Thanks Scott Forman 82 FC35RB Memphis |

Mostly tools, but I carry parts too, and patch items.
Duct tape, bailing wire, electrical tape, 12v circuit tester, several lengths/gauges/colors of wire, some with alligator clips, Belts, light- bulbs, fuses (for the glass ones under the dash, in the overhead, and in the battery compartment), Sporlan rebuild kit, nylon air lines (several sizes) and fittings to repair damaged copper air lines, fuel filters, distilled water, ATF (in case needed to prime fuel system), spare inner and outer lug-nuts (LH and RH), Spare ignition and headlamp as well as other switches, miscellaneous spare circuit- breakers, hose washers, just an initial list. And oh yes, a spare Dupree dump-valve seal ;~) I think there's a lot more, this is from memory. - Jeff Miller in Holland, MI --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@...> wrote: > > What's in your spare parts compartment for on-the-road problems? > Trying to put a list together and don't want to forget anything. > > Thanks > > Scott Forman > 82 FC35RB > Memphis > |

Oh boy, here we go! Better watch it. You will have the DW's purse permanently implanted in the back of your head. Furthur, you may never own a BB. Fun, those days were fun, really fun. I was single all those years. Today fun has a different definition, to include responsibility. What a drag. Six years ago I finally married a woman who became the driving force behind our RV lifestyle. In fact, she approves every message I send. LOL--LOL. I bet your wife does also. Good luck on your search. Leroy,
You are correct. After I hit the enter key I began to have second thoughts about the comment. But the DW doesn't read the forum so I am home free from that perspective. I didn't mean it that way. Actually, I laughed my tail off. So did the DW. I was trying to express in my own way how the world has changed. Maybe I didn't get it done. I kinda sorta liked those days. We gotta have some fun in life these days. Find a Bird and come join us . It is not as bad as it may seem. I'm still crazy after all these years off center leaning to the right. Leroy,
I guess what I meant was that I sometimes forget that this is a public forum and that I could offend some of the readers unintentionally. I absolutely miss the old days when life was so simple and spontaneous. I currently have two sons in college, one will be a junior and the other a freshman this fall. My daughter graduated this May with a masters in geriatric social work, just in time for my wife and I to take advantage of her education. I switched employers 5 years ago so I am tight on vacation time. I expect to retire in 4 to 5 years and would absolutely love to just jump in a Bluebird and go where the spirit moved. I think it would be very wise to get started sooner to work out the bugs in a vintage bird, and to work out the bugs RVing in general. I just have a very tough effort to gain agreement from the DW. Oh, we could rent and take scheduled, limited trips, but where would the adventure be? I want a toy to occupy my time and keep me interested and busy. I'm not much for sitting in a lawn chair watching the tomatoes grow in the garden, if you know what I mean. Gardner OK, I'm rambling. See what happens when you don't have a bluebird in the driveway to keep you busy? Gardner --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "jwasnewski" > > -Gardner: > > I didn't mean it that way.
