Help! need belt specs for a Cat 3208 in a 90SP36
Can someone give me the sizes or part numbers for all the engine
belts. Last trip the engine started to overheat about 20 miles from home and i found that both fan belts and both alternator/air pump belts were extremely loose. One oddity is that in both cases one belt was much looser than the other. I have tightened them all but am out of room to tighten the alt. belts any more. Chuck Harrison Akron, Ohio 90WLSP36 |

Chuck,
I write down the numbers on the belts and take to the parts store. The Wanderlodge Quick Reference Parts Catalog shows the following numbers for the CAT WLSP 3028TAZ 1989-91 300 HP : Water Pump & Crankshaft #1333053. Alternator & Air Compressor #0814038. Power Steering & Crankshaft #1333061. Air Cond. Freon Compressor #1396142. I believe they are Bluebird part numbers. Chuck,
I did not respond to your earlier post, because we have the same engine, but our FC has the engine upfront. I do not know if the belts and pullies have the same configuation as an SP 3208, 300 HP. We use Gates belts, two belts Part # 9600, four part # 9485, two part # 9415 and one part # 9700. A truck part store or NAPA has these V belts. This infor mation should be in the BLue Box. Hope this helps, Maybe someone with an SP can verify these part numbers. Chuck The Alternator 2 matched sets Gates 9600 Power steering
belt & Water pump 2 matched sets Gates 9525 Air compressor 1 Gates 9463 Fan Belt 2 matched sets Gates 9480 The last time I had mine changed my mechanic put on NAPA belts he said they are good too. He was putting on a compressor at the same time so I said to do the belts. He said he couldn't get any adjustment out of the alternator so he went one size smaller. The NAPA numbers are Alternator 2--- 9590HD Power Steering & Waterpump 2---- 9525HD Fan Belt Hub 2----9480HD & I had a Gates 9463 for the Air compressor. You could cross it with the NAPA if you go that way. Hops this helps as I was busy today & ffffor got to look my numbers up. Thanks Don,
On my engine the air compressor and alternator are driven by the same two belts. Hi Chuck
Jeff Miller posted my 1991 Wanderlodge Handbook on the forum and John Finn put it into the archives or links. I can't explain quickly how to get it , but I put ALL the information I could find about the wanderlodge into the book. It has 10 chapters in it and each chapter deals with one system. I.E. Chapter 1 is EMERGENCY Cptr 2 ABNORMAL Procedures, Chapter 6 is ELECTRICS, Chapter 9 is Engine and Transmission and it has ALL the numbers of the Belts, Paint codes, capacities of liquids etc in it. Maybe John Finn can tell you how to find my manual in the archives or links. I put All the info I could find, copy, steal or gather and put it together into the 1991 WLSP 36 Handbook. Hope you can find it. Juergen in PQA 1991 WLSP 36 williamcharrison Can someone give me the sizes or part numbers for all the engine belts. Fielen danke Juergen,
What a great collection of useful info. Now if I could just find a picture of the belt arrangements I would be happy. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Juergen > > Hi Chuck > Jeff Miller posted my 1991 Wanderlodge Handbook on the forum and John Finn put it into the archives or links.
