A "fireproof" credit card or buckets of money are always required for
'Wandering' ... Since I'm soon to be full timing, my $45 per month broadband becoming about $60 per month isn't too bad a trade off. (Of course I also lose the 3 mps speeds as well.) The cheapest ways to Internet access is the WiFi or Cell phone dial up service. It's really only suitable for very light surfing and email. I presumed that you had heavier needs. My choice might be different if I wasn't going to full-time. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... Pete,
I am from New Jersey, but one of the BB's I am looking at is in Florida. That means a 1000 mile trip home, first time driving anything that big, and zero diesel experience. I should have my head examined. But with internet access, a cell phone and a credit card, I might make it. Gardner: I'll make you a deal. You fill-er up. I'll drive it to NJ
for you, you send me home to Niceville, or Pensacola, best airline way and you will have a bus. That will give me a couple or three days off and away from the grandkids. EH, whadda you think? Gardner,
Take heart.... I hadn't driven anything large since I was in the Army 40 years ago. (Except for a couple of rental trucks when I moved.) I purchased my 'bird from a seller located near Dallas TX and drove it 1600 miles home to California (via Denver where I stopped for a couple of days to see in-laws). My only caution is to call your credit card company (or companies) and warn them before your trip. $400 and $500 fill-ups at truck stops _way_ outside my normal area freaked out their fraud detectors and one card was actually "frozen" on me.... Cell phone was great... Internet access (I was depending on WiFi) proved unreliable... I was never at a hot spot when I had time for access and when I had time, I wasn't near a hot spot... I know I should have my head examined .... but once, many years ago, my dear wife accused me of not being spontaneous. Now, she sometimes wishes I were less so... Pete Masterson aeonix1@...
