Mirrors

I have a 84fc 35' I just picked it up at a cat place after an oil
chance. The drivers side mirror was hit by a truck ?? When we moved it
back I had forgot where it should be. I don't use it much. I told them
it should stick out like the one on the right, it points to about one
o'clock. After we got the left one set at about 11 o'clock so it would
look the same. I then drove to my storage place and had to look out the
windshield to use it. I seems the before I could look at it from the
side window. Any ideas?

Sure, pull the left mirror arm back till you can use out of the side window.
They won't match exactly and couldn't have before.

Dennis, the previous owner of our 86FC hit something and broke the
inner part of the drivers side mirror. The original mirror I have to
look out the drivers side window. We have new Remco mirrors and they
will be adjusted to look out the front windshield. The arms on the
neweer mirrors will stick wayyyy out if pushed out to the side. To get
close to the adjustment from outside put your head against the side of
the coach and adjust till you can see the drivers seat. Then go inside
and finish the adjustment from the seat. BE CAREFUL not to break the
original mirror inside. They are no longer made and very hard to find
replacements. There is a cap with a slot on it, the cap unscrews, under
the cap is a large nut, that is holding the arm in place. You may want
to loosen and retighten once back in place, PB Blaster my be needed! I
would check very closely to be sure they did not break the inside.

If you find they broke something you will need new mirrors ..the bolt
pattern is very hard to match we (Remco and I) are working on a
prototype to have an adjustable bolt pattern on the mirror base. Should
see them in Charlotte next week for final fitting.

Dennis,
Cram-alot-inn, that's catchy!

Totally a matter of personal preference, so put it where you like it.

I wouldn't care for the driver's side in front of me, God knows I
don't see enough of what goes on anyway. So..I like the side mirrors
to reference the coach just so that I can see a tiny bit of the side
in a relaxed driving position. This way I get the greatest field of
vision to the rear. This works best for me whatever I drive.

Side window (DS),windshield (PS) about 10:45 @ 1:30 from the tip of
my nose.

you really need to get that old bird and it's driver out on the road
the best way to adjust mirrors is experiance.

I don't really, other than the original supplier: Ramco, in Indiana.
They usually have some used mirrors at the RIV, and occasionally
people remove older Ramco mirrors and install newer chrome or dual-
power mirrors and sell the old. Post that you're looking, and check
the classified areas and you might find a deal.

Other than this I'm not sure what models can be found that will fit
the radius of the bus front, but I believe that many of the older MCI
buses have the same radius (and thus can become donors).
