old bluebird brake check alert!!

You all with old birds who havent checked the brakes in a while.....my
new bird had shoes about 3/4 inch thick so no problem..right????



WRONG...I just happened to be underneath her the other day admiring
her undersides when I saw the left rear brake shoe with a six
incrack/split in it..AND both rear seals leaking......rest of the
story...got new seals and rear brakes yesterday and NOW...on the road
again....mechanic said had I not discovered CRACKS, the brakes would
have broken up and possible STOPPED the bird in its
tracks...SO..recommend you all examine your SHOES when you getr some
spare time...LOL
