Keeping clean in your BB

Many campground hosts direct us to "their" showers. I say thank you very much
and use what I paid for, without fear of other persons' stuff they leave on
the floor.

This may sound like a silly question but here it goes.

How many of you accually use the shower in your BB?

Do they make enough hot water for a home style shower or do you still
need to do the Wet, Soap, Rinse routeen.

The two other coaches I have had make the shower impractable to use due
to lack of hot water. So they end up as storage closets and beer
coolers.

We use our shower every day we use the coach. Myself, wife and two kids. We
find it very adequate. Plenty of hot water. The wife also uses the washer/dryer
daily.

I think the corollary is why on earth wouldn't you use your own shower
rather than a public shower? You need to forget the apparently
non-showering experiences you had other coaches. :^) The Birds
typically have 10 gallon hot water heaters and 100-130+ gallons of
fresh water. You can take nice long showers with that until you fill
the waste tanks. If you choose to do the Wet, Soap, Rinse routine
when dry camping, with careful water management, you can go for a long
time before you have to worry about dumping and re-filling. And
there's still plenty of room for beer storage in place of the shower!

I enjoy a long shower .... and I find that I can have that luxury in
my BB. I usually allow myself a longer shower when I have shore water
available --- if I'm boondocking, I try to conserve my water, etc. to
cover contingencies. So far, I have not run out of hot water. While
the 8 or 10 gal hot water heater might seem insufficient for a shower
of any length, it seems that it is able to bring water up to
temperature sufficiently fast that it doesn't run out. I don't know
if this will be the case during the winter when the inbound water
will be rather cooler than during the summer.

I have a 17 year old daughter who needs ALL of the hot water and
then some. At least a 20 minute shower. At my house, that qualifies
for a home style shower.

Learned a little trick recently, turn the little valve on the shower
head down a bit, makes the hot water last a lot longer...

136 gallons of fresh goes quite a ways toward a shower.

You will use your shower for a shower and not a cooler when you have
a Wanderlodge ;~}

minutes. Your daughter will adjust, believe me!

Hi, Doug (and all)!

Plenty of hot water for the two of us to enjoy the luxury of an unhurried
shower/shampoo every night (plus I usually have all the hot water I need to get
the dishes done as well). We don't take 20-minute showers, but they are
definitely unhurried.

As others here have attested in their own way in response to your question, when
you travel in a Blue Bird, you really do take the most essential comforts of
home with you! It is a real motor*home*--emphasis on the *home*! Lovely!

Also, ours is a rear-bath model, and people are always amazed at how roomy the
whole thing feels--about the size of a small, well-appointed guest bathroom in
your own home--complete with an ingenious drying rack that folds compactly to
the wall and then folds out to hold at least 5 or 6 racks of towels, drying
clothes, whatever. So ducky! Oh, yes, did I mention that with a rear-bath, your
shower is actually in a very usable tub? Ahh!

Just sharing one gal's viewpoint. You won't ever be sorry if you get a BB! You
and spouse-y/significant other/etc. will love it!
