Napa Part numbers?
Working my way through the coach ... starting at the front end. Need
Napa part numbers for: PowerTech PTS MH-15 Generator (with Kubota Engine) Oil filter (Powertech part no) 70000-32091 Fuel Filter " " " 70000-43081 Air Filter " " " 70000-11080 Thanks for any help. Spin on type NAPA oil- 1191-------fuel 3390 WIX-oil------51191------fuel 53390 FRAM oil--PH 3569 I have used ll of the above. Can't see any difference. Haven't changed the air filter, so can't help. I use 30W Delo, change it every 75hrs. Napa Part numbers?
Fuel filter is a big help.... the "water in filter" alarm comes on if
I go over a rough patch of road. Here in California (due to Government incompetence) we have lots of rough patches... When I was poking around the 'bird this afternoon, I notice that the air filter 'container' is all malformed and crushed (like it was pulling a vacuum). That can't be good -- tomorrow I'm going to attempt to open it up and see what, if anything, is inside. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... Water in fuel alarm. Hmm. I don't have one of those on the genset filter. If you had water there one would think you might have water in the tank and it would show up elsewhere. I sent you the filter numbers I use on the Kubota. Is that where your warning originates? Napa Part numbers?
The 'water' warning shows up on the generator panel above the
entrance door. A light comes on plus a screeching alarm noise. (Sure does get your attention!) See photo at <http://homepage.mac.com/ aeonix1/> The photo is called 95lxi4238.jpg. (Note, this is a dealer photo .. I've never seen the unbalanced load showing on the gauges.) Since the panel covers the amps and volts being output by the generator, polarity, and safeline, I can only assume that the alarm refers to the generator. (Another hint is that the alarm immediately stopped once the generator was turned off.) There is another "water in fuel" alarm on the dashboard for the engine. I can only guess how the alarm is triggered as I can't find any sign of a sensor by the generator fuel filter (a spin-on type). Yes, you would think that water would show up else where ... but the Racor seems to catch the water at the engine ... and I've flushed it a couple of times through the bottom valve (which is supposed to allow any water to drain out). I haven't spent any time under the coach (yet) and haven't checked for water in the main fuel tank. The other water in fuel alarms have been silent. I would guess that small quantities of water could accumulate in the generator fuel filter over time and eventually build up to the point where it is an issue. Meanwhile, water finding its way to the engine would be captured and drained from the Racor. BTW, thanks for the numbers. It was a 'slam dunk' at the Napa store today. No joy, however, on the Air Filter. It's a real freak. (Napa suggested contacting the manufacturer.) I did discover that the Air Filter is a Donaldson DuraLite disposable air filter. When I pulled the filter off the engine, the label was facing downward. As luck would have it, the stock number was under the band that holds the filter in place --- and it is completely obliterated by the vibration-caused wear. It is important to note that this air filter is quite different from the one described and pictured in the manual. I eventually found a sticker down low on the curbside front of the engine that listed some filter numbers. It suggested a Donaldson ECC 5002. Upon researching the Donaldson web site, it appears that the ECC 5002 might now be an ECC C65002 -- or it's very similar. (These are disposable air filters that include the complete housing (made of plastic) rather than an internal, replaceable cartridge.) I will continue the search for a new air filter ... or a substitute. I was able to find an airflow rating of 108 to 162 CFM for the C65002 filter, so I may be able to find a substitute. Your coach is newer than mine and is somewhat different. I have a water in fuel warning light on the drivers panel only. Two years ago I needed a part for the Kubota genset that I couldn't find anywhere. Power Tech stepped up. The Company is in Leesburg, FL . The telephone number I have is 1-800-760-0027. I finally stumbled across their web site ... found the same model
generator with the Kubota engine is still made (but it's not listed as an RV generator, but as a "mobile power generator" with a fire truck in the background -- the RV generators only go up to 3kw.) I sent off an email this evening explaining my problem. I have the number for Donaldson, the air filter manufacturer and I'll call them tomorrow. I'll get to the bottom of this one....! If anyone else has a '95 with the 15kw Power Tech generator, I'd sure love to hear from them what kind of air filter they have.... Pete Masterson aeonix1@... A _big_ thank you... The WIX 46296, from the online photo in the Wix
catalog, seems to be quite similar to the Donaldson ECC C65002 (that I determined was probably the right one) -- and is probably OEMed from Donaldson. In looking up the "where to buy", I discover that dealers tend to be in the farming communities in this state. Probably another reason that it was "invisible" here in the city.
