Shipping RV to Australia from US
To Hank
re shipping your RV to Australia. As an Australian with some knowledge of shipping vehicles into and out of Auz. my advice is DONT. I have been importing Coaches from Japan for a number of years now to convert to Motorhomes . More than likely you would get it to the wharf off the ship and that would be the end of it you would not be able to get it off the wharf under its own power. You would not be able to register it in Australia as it is left hand drive , thats the easy bit to fix , if you want to know what else let me know I will really put you off. Barrie |

Shipping RV to Australia from US
i shipped a american motorhome [mobile traveler] to belarus last summer. no
problems whatsoever. just had to fill in some forms, and deliver to the seaport. got a letter from the buyer 6 weeks later saying all was good and they had just registered it, etc. kgs On 11/6/06, b_auzzie <b-edmonds1@...> wrote: > > To Hank > re shipping your RV to Australia. > As an Australian with some knowledge of shipping vehicles into and out > of Auz. my advice is DONT. > I have been importing Coaches from Japan for a number of years now to > convert to Motorhomes . > More than likely you would get it to the wharf off the ship and that > would be the end of it you would not be able to get it off the wharf > under its own power. Shipping RV to Australia from US
What are the laws on driving motorhomes in Australia that are registered in
other countries? For instance, I've seen a number of European motorhomes driving on the roads in the US with their European plates. The owners planned to ship them back home when done. I also know of at least one motorhome shipped to Europe and driven with US plates over there. Some US states don't require annual inspections for registration, so in theory, someone could ship a US motorhome to some other part of the world and continue registering it in the US for many years.
