Well the original Sharp Microwave/Convection Oven in my 1989 PT40
finally died. It is a Model R8580A. I remember several of you have
replaced yours and I was checking to see if any of you could tell me
what later model units would fit well in the built in space in the
bird. I was told that a Sharp R930 was close but I wanted to check
with the group. Thanks, Mike McMahan 1989 PT Counting the days until

I was sure mine was done a couple of years ago, however I found a local service
man who was down on Sharps. He replaced a couple of micro switches and it's
been fine since then. This guy did a lot of work for restaurants and was hip on
Amana Radar Ranges. I gave him 50 bucks.

Howdy, Mike.
We replaced the original Sharp Microwave/Convection with another
Sharp, Model # 1870F. It took 2 men to get it off of the wall. Luckily
Elmer from Sebring FL, helped Jack with this job. Finding and getting
to the plug and recepticle was a bear. There is a 1 inch gap between
the top of the new oven and the bottom of the cabinet. Jack inserted
some black foam in that gap and it looks OK.

Good luck,
Jack and Liz

Mike:
I recently replaced our Sharp but do not have the Model # in front of me. It
fit perfectly in the slot and works far better than the original. If you will
e-mail me your dimensions, width, height and depth, I will be up to the bus
tomorrow and see if my model will fit your coach.

Hank:
I'll send you the model number I used and the dimensions, then you can decide.
I replaced the black original with stainless. Will try to do that tomorrow.

Leroy, The dimensions of the Sharp I removed are 24 5/8(w) x 15 3/4
(h) x 18 3/4 (d). I believe the model number was R8580A. Thanks
for your help. Mike McMahan

Mike:
My Sharp Model will not work in your application. It's R-1874 approximately
30" wide. I looked at Sharp's web site and it appears that the 930 model will
work. When I changed mine out the wall mount structure was different (no
problem) and I had to drill another hole for the electrical cord because the new
model was different.

Suggestions: Talk to the supplier and understand the wall mount bracket before
purchasing and see if it will work for you.
