Air Step Problem?
When I park my 88 FC35 I always turn off both master electrical
switches. I switch the step to be locked in. It stays in for a day or less then when I return to the unit the step is out. Is that normal or do I have a leak somewhere? Bruce 1988 FC35 |

Air Step Problem?
When the air pressure drops off, the step comes out. That's normal.

Air Step Problem?
Bruce, As the tanks leak down the step detects and uses its last chance
to swing open and lock into position. A forum member parked his new to him 91SP inches from a curb and came out a day later to find that the step extended and then the air bags deflated, resting the bus on the extended step. This is why it is important to park with your steer wheels set straight. If not, models like the 94Pt will rest down on the tires and damage the body. Air Step Problem?
Unless I'm missing something on my Bird, it seems odd that there is no way to
secure the step in the completely out position once the air pressure drops off. It droops to about a 2/3 out position, which is not very convenient. Any fixes? Bruce,
My 87FC35's step reacts the same way. I had assumed that was "normal". Maybe not. Don 87FC35 Jensen Beach FL [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I believe the step design is to open once the air pressure at the pressure
switch drops below 90 psi. Air Step Problem?
If you use air to keep the step out,,,, there is a leak in the ram or
valve. The ram on my 94pt is not servicable. Air Step Problem?
Mark,
Mine too. Mine never moves by itself, air or not. Only when I tell it to. Somethings not right with your step. Mine extends to a fully locked
position as the air bleeds off. Pete Masterson aeonix1@...
