In Las Vegas - 40 Years Late
Just FYI, some folks know that I am out of touch this week in Las
Vegas. Bird of the Week update may be late this week. We
celebrated 40 years of marriage on Sunday the 19th and my wife
dropped many less than subtle hints about getting the honeymoon she
never had when we got married fresh out of high school, soooo we
left San Antonio late Saturday afternoon and arrived in Vegas mid-
day on Monday. The Bird performed great on the trip out. I was not
overly impressed with the second gear 13 mile long 6% downhill
grades coming out of the mountains into Bullhead City and Laughlin,
but the Bird handled them very well. Of course the fuel bill will
be outstanding this month (took on nearly $500 of fuel on the Texas
border and hopefully will not need to fill again until we get back
there - of course that's still nearly 600 miles from San Antonio).
We passed three Wanderlodges and one converted BB Schoolie, all
headed east, during the trip out here - one of them was just leaving
Las Vegas this morning as we were arriving - coach looked very
familiar but I can't place the name. We are at Las Vegas Outdoor
Resorts for a few days. Very nice park, but *pricey* for what you
really get. On the other hand, they have manned security gate
entrances and a concierge in the check-in lobby to arrange for show
tickets or any other needs you might have. Now, if only he would
pay for them! Talk about 5 star camping! After we parked the Bird
and hooked up, I discovered water system problems so I have some
hopefully quick challenges tomorrow. I will be out of touch from
Thursday until Sunday, so don't be offended if you post questions
addressed to me and don't get a response very quickly.

Best wishes on celebrating your 40th anniversary! In this time of "disposable"
everything it is gratifying to see lasting relationships such as yours. Enjoy
the honeymoon!

Congratulations to you and Sue. Hope you make 40 more.

I also hope you can take care of your water problems quickly and not
ruin your together time on the trip.

Happy anniversary Mike and significant other. We had our 50th in July but
Moncell's health has regressed to her being totally dependent and wheelchair
bound. I pray for your health so that you can enjoy traveling in your
coach.
