Price for tires?
I have been getting prices for Michelin tires 12r 22.5, I wanted XZA
1's but they say not making them anymore? XZA 2's didn't give a price. They seem to push XZE's from one place the price was $430., from Pomps it was $450., these prices sound very high to me. Does anyone know of somewhere that has better prices in say IL. or MI.(Mr. Miller?), my freind that owns a trucking fleet halls load's in these areas and could pick them up at a tire place if the prices where better. Thankyou for any help! Jeff & Michelle August 80FC35RB Plymouth WI. |

Price for tires?
Jeff & Michelle,
I bought my new XZE's from Tommy House Tire in Decatur, IL. With all of the different taxes applied(in other words, OUT THE DOOR), I paid right at $450 per tire(not mounted). This is approx $400 per tire before taxes, etc. House-Tommy House Tire CO - Corporation OFC 340 East Macon Street, Decatur, IL 62523 (217) 423-2690 Jay Darst 85PT40SpringfieldIL --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Jeff August" wrote: > > I have been getting prices for Michelin tires 12r 22.5, I wanted XZA > 1's but they say not making them anymore? Price for tires?
Four months ago I bot 12r 22.5 XZ2 for the steer axle. They were 430
dollars, but after excise and sales taxes, they were 499 dollars. So your price is about what I paid at Tommy House Tire in Decatur Illinois. dandarst86fc35rbhuntleyil. >From: "Jeff August" >Reply-To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Price for tires? >Date: Sat, 23 Apr 2005 01:08:51 -0000 > > >I have been getting prices for Michelin tires 12r 22.5, I wanted XZA >1's but they say not making them anymore? Got a big question? What's the difference between thies Mitchelin tires and say
a set of Toyo tires? Is the ride or what? Dan Darst Four months ago I bot 12r 22.5 XZ2 for the steer axle. They were 430 dollars, but after excise and sales taxes, they were 499 dollars. Price for tires?
This is an old debate, do you use Snap-On wrenches or Tru-Value, they
both turn a bolt, ... box wine or ??, ... I've driven new Toyos on one coach, sold them and bought new Michelins, swapped Michelin to Dunlop, then Goodyear, then back to Michelin on another, ... Bridgestone, Firestone, to Michelin, I personally feel that there is enough difference in ride and handling that I will pay the difference at least on the steer axle where I ride. Yeah, I'm a tire nut. Others are perfectly happy with other brands, or prefer them, no wrong answer. All a matter of opinion or preference. I will say however that people buying coaches prefer to see Michelins on it to any other brand in my experience, probably why Kenworth, Prevost, Peterbuilt, others equip them as standard on the top-line trucks and buses. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net http://www.millercoachworks.com --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, jon lechich wrote: > Oh I forgot is it because they cost about 150 dollars per tire more? > Jon Lechich > 1978 Wanderlodge > > jon lechich > Got a big question? I went from Bridgstones to Michelins on steer cause they are generally
credited as being the best for ride. They probably do ride better because I believe they only have 2 plies in the sidewall, and certainly squish more than the Bridgstones for any given air pressure. I would guess the Michelins will crack their sidewall before the Bridges would. After 8 years the Bridges had no cracks or other signs of age. This is my first Michelin try, so it will be a long time before I can speak from experience, but others are well ahead me on this. dandarst86fc35rbhuntleyil. >From: jon lechich >Reply-To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com >Subject: RE: [WanderlodgeForum] Price for tires? >Date: Sat, 23 Apr 2005 18:45:18 -0700 (PDT) > >Got a big question?
