Yahoo also has free photo pages for any of its members. That is where I
keep the pictures of my restoration project. To save space we may be better off to have a page with links to each members own photo page. Each member can go to My Photo's after signing in and create their photo album. There is no restrictions or limits on how many photo's can be put in here. Just a thought, here is the link to my album for an example: _Yahoo! As Ron mentioned we have to regulate picture sizes to be fair to
everyone that wants to post. Yahoo! allocates 30MB of space for Photos. Currently, there are *four* personal albums and one or two single pics that together consume over 15MB of the 30MB available. If you have loaded one of these photo albums, please delete the current photos, re-size them and re-load them. Thanks, Mike Bulriss 83 PT40 "Stagecoach" |

Instead of deleting the photo and/or resizing the photo with
software, the forum moderator or the owner of the photo album can delete just the full size version of the photo by opening open the photo and select the "View: full size" option from the menu above the photo. When the full-sized version opens, select the "Delete full size only" link directly above the photo. This cuts the size of the photo to a more manageable size - between 40 and 80k depending on the size of the original photo. I go through the groups that I moderate every week or so to reduce photo sized of members photo albums; most never notice the change. Thanks for the info Tim. I didn't realize my photos were so large.
After your suggestion I have gone back and made each file much smaller. Tom,
We actually have lots of space available, we just need to manage it. For Files on the coach updates as you suggested, we have 20MB of space just for that purpose and we haven't even reached 20% usage yet. So there is lots of space for more coach update files. Photos has 30MB available just for that purpose, and if we keep the picture sizes down, we can have hundreds out there. We just can't have the 1 and 2MB size pictures that have been loaded. At that size image, they are actually bigger than my 20" monitor and I have to scroll to see the whole picture! Saw some nice ones with great detail however!! Marabito's pictures are only running about 7-10KB and they are clear. Small, but clear. We have suggested a 25KB size which ought to come out to about 300pixels which are nice size pics. If they were all 25KB we could store approximately 1200 pics, which is way more than was ever out there on the old forum. If they are more like Marabito's 10KB size, then we could store approximately 3000 pics. So, we have the space, we have to use it wisely, before we bother buying more (if that is even possible, haven't looked yet). Did you notice I added your headlight relay fix out on Files in response to an earlier question? Thanks Mike for adding the headlight mod. to the file section. The 40Amp
Bosch or Bosch type relays can be obtained at radio Shack of most automotive supply stores. I bought mine from Digikey ( http://www.digikey.com) and also bought the sockets for them with the wires already attached. The relays are regular VF4 automotive relays used in many cars and trucks. The Digikey Part # is :PB149ND. If you use these relays you will be pulling very little current thru your dash since the dimmer switch now triggers the relay. With this mod you get really bright lights if you have halogens.
