Jack, 3 years ago, David Campbell in Michigan had one that he fixed up. It
was a real classic. He is a member of the forum and perhaps he'll contact you. ERnie- 83PT40 in Texas [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Tom, when Dave was at the rally 2 years ago, he was asking me questions about
his coach, while I was in the process of hanging my wet bedroom carpet on my yukon to dry out. I wonder what he thought about the advice I was giving him, since we looked like a bunch of old hippies with our stuff hanging all over the place? I think it might have been in 1976-77 but I can't
remember much except it had an Olds Toronado engine and I think it may have had front wheel drive. If you have a membership with FMCA, and IF the articles from past
FMCA magazines are available on the FMCA Web site, then there is an excellent 3 part article about the GMs. If there is no way for you to get the article on-line please let me know and I'll see if I still have those issues and what it would take to do a photocopy. They were purpose-built (not a box on a farm truck chassis) and used the FWD Toronado drivetrain. Not really designed for extended use; not much tankage, etc. Many have been extended and upgraded. I've heard they are very easy to get stuck in mud or snow. There's probably a Yahoo group and a few web sites dedicated to them. A GM would make a great mother-in-law toad for your Bird Bob Griesel --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, John Suter wrote: > I think it might have been in 1976-77 but I can't > remember much except it had an Olds Toronado engine > and I think it may have had front wheel drive. > > John Suter > > > > > --- Jack & Donna Smith > > A bit off topic, but if anyone has owned a GMC > > (73-78) motorhome, > > please Email me.. Ernie Dave had a GMC that was redone by Rush/Buskirk RV in Sandusky
Michigan. When I sold my 1976 GMC Palm Beach and bought the 1982 FC35 Dave and his wife got interested. I hosted them at a Rally in the Valley in Perry Ga and they ended up buying their present BB coach. They had driven the GMC to Perry parked it outside and if my memory serves me correctly they sold the GMC on the spot to someone that loved it. Small world isnt it?
