1978 Wanderlodge, a few questions
Hey all,

I have a few questions about my rig. I know I read this same
question somewhere before, but forgot the answer and can't find it
again. In the back of my bus, above the bed dead center under the
overhead storage are two light switches. One activates the power to
the electrical outlet on the passanger side of the sleeping
compartment. Can someone else tell me what the heck the other one
does, or at least what it's supposed to do?

To those who have had their radiator out, are there any cross
members behind it? I'm not talking about the one it sits on and the
one below it that bolt in, I'm talking about any type of brace
behind it that would be at about the same level as the floor inside
the Wanderlodge. In replacing the engine I found that it looked like
there may have been at one point a small brace behind the radiator,
but it looked like it had been torched out. While a bit sloppy, I
wasn't sure if this was factory or not, because along the frame near
the engine the frame has been ground removing perhaps a half inch or
less of metal along the frame to allow the engine to fit properly
and give it room to shift on the, if these engines do that. I figure
if the factory cut the frame like that, they might have cut whatever
else was up front too. I thought that maybe these changes were made
due to the fact that this was a factory conversion to an RV. Maybe
Bluebird found it easier to just cut out what wasn't needed then re-
tool to make wanderlodges. It's just as possible that someone else
cut this crossmember out to swap the engine, but that would mean
there was 2 engines in 80k miles! Wait, make that three with the one
I'm putting in Smile

Mine is on the upper panel over the bed. There are 3 aisle lites on my
coach. If the bulbs are burned out- you may not be able to tell.

One of the mysteries of Bluebird ownership is ---" What has the previous
owners installed that has no label or documentation??" To me- that's part of the
pleasure of ownership.

Joshua, the lights should be located along the floor. The switch in
my coach is above the bed but it's a toggle switch that says "Night
Light"

Hope this helps...

1978 Wanderlodge, a few questions
Joshua,
On my 78 there are three switches above the right rear twin bed
on the wall. One is for the flourescent lights under the left and
right overhead cabnets, one is for the courtesy lights down by the
floor, and the third was, I believe, installed by a PO. It is a 110
circuit to a light under the rear overhead.

1978 Wanderlodge, a few questions
I was thinking about that yesterday as I rewired the backup camera from a
constant-on circuit to an ignition-switched circuit. I annotated my schematic,
but that won't necessarily mean anything. Rich Ducci told me he had extensively
documented changes he made to this coach, and none of that documentation carried
forward through the next two owners.

In terms of the change itself, I really hate noticing a couple of hours after
stopping that the camera is still on, but I want it on always while driving.

I presume you did that before the power pak which reduces 13.5v to 12.0v
constant voltage for the camera system? If you have one, as I do.

1978 Wanderlodge, a few questions
I don't know if mine has one or not, but if it does, yes, it was before it. In
the forward compartment (outside, above the generator) on mine there are
multiple busses. Constant on, Filtered Constant, Master Switched, Filtered
Master Switched, and two that are Ignition Switched. The camera shared a 15-amp
breaker in a Constant On bus with the driver's seat controls. I removed that
wire and re-routed it to an open location on an Ignition Bus, and used a spare
15-amp breaker.
