Price for tires?
Thanks for the information. I saw those down at Les Swab and thought they might
work for me also. Who makes Hinnon tires? I know the Michlends are the tops but
at the higher price and the amount of time you could get out of DOT life 7 to 8
years I think a lower price tire would due. And did you notice I said time not
miles because most of us out here probably will not drive our rigs that much
because of the fuel prices and staying a little bit closser to home. Jon

I purchased HINNON tires from a local dealer. He has used tghem on
heavy duty vehicles for 5 years w/o any problem. Only have around 5K
miles so far but all is well. The real plus is they are only
250.00/each

Jon,

I believe that Hinnon are made in Korea - not sure though.... Since
the "average" RV is driven only 2,000 miles a year and those of us
that average 15,000 miles per year are high users, based on a five
year life, the mileage varies from 10,000 to 75,000 miles during the
life of the tire. Tires used by RVers typically rot out before they
wear out.

The Toyo has one of the strongest side walls in the industry - five
plies - where as Michelin has one of the weakest side walls - 2 plies.
The weaker side wall is supposed to give a better ride. I did not
notice any difference.

One area that I think many miss is balancing all wheels. Many only
balance the steer axle leaving the drivers and tag unbalanced. Then
they wonder way the ride is rough. I recommend balancing ALL tires. I
have used Equal in all my coach tires for about ten years now and find
it to be a superior product. With Equal, you do not have to constantly
rebalance the tires. I have used Centromatics as well and they work
great. The Equal is cheaper though.

P.S. When you get to Les Schwab, see if they will give you any
trade-in for you old tires. The worse they can say is no....

Hey Jon,

The WL is a monster coach - GVWR = 48,900 - requires load range L,
IIRC. The GM coach had a weight of 28,000# and I used Load Range G.
The dealer can give you the proper load range for your coach if you
know the GVWR.
