The search is on... AGAIN
I recently missed purchasing a beautiful FC33RB in Indiana by about 4
days. Still crying in my beer...my own fault. Anyway, the search is
on AGAIN!

My ideal is a 1984-1987 FC33 with rear bath. I like the size and
layout of this coach alot. My requirements: 1) Non-smoking, clean
vehicle with all systems working (except maybe engine AC which
apparently rarely survives). 2)proper maintenance with records. I'm
a very competent mechanic and electrician, but am not interested in a
restoration at this point in life. 3) Oil analysis must be OK, 4)
realistic price... I've researched for 2-years and am pretty savy in
terms of the market. At the same time, I do appreciate down-home
TLC, proper maintenance, and improvements, and would expect to pay
accordingly.

I've looked at Gary Millers on the net and believe this wins the
Superbowl MVP award. If it was a rear bath I'd buy it sight unseen
at the price he is asking. I've also looked at Dan Darst's FC35RB
locally (very nice but slightly out of my price range).

What I'm NOT looking for is a coach that needs new tires, shocks,
brakes, air-bags, generator, backup camera, refrigerator, furnaces,
hoses, belts, swing radiator, toilet, stove, tile, carpet, upholstry,
windshield, air dryer, dump valves, alternator, batteries, awnings,
etc., etc., You get the picture (maybe tires... but not the whole
punch-list you sometimes find). I realize this is like hopeing to
find a 1968 GTO convertible in somebody's barn for $6,000 (that's a
joke so don't throw rotten emails). On the other hand, the 33RB isn't
the most desirable, highest resale BB out there so maybe I have hope.

Please let me know if you see or hear of anything.

THANKS!

RW,

I have just put my FC back on eBay, it is a 35RB rather than 33, but
other than that is as you describe. You can see it here

"When you think long you think wrong". Seems to be a lot of that going around
these days. An old man told me that once upon a time. Good luck on your search.

Step up and buy my brothers 86FC35RB, it DOES meet your criteria.

I have been involved in alot/most of the updates to his Bird. The
inverter update is done nicely.

The list you described has been completed-
new uphosltery, carpet, air bags(all), tires(steer), shocks(all),
brakes, hoses(engine compartment, completely), power steering update
(common problem on FC's), 100,000 mile valve adjustment completed,
dog house reinsulated(properly and with very good material and
workmanship), frig replaced, all roof a/c's replaced, furnaces
replaced, air dryer serviced, spit valve serviced, has swing
radiator, has Remco power mirrors, we installed a $1,500 320amp
alternator which provides sufficient power to the inverter to run an
a/c unit.

this Bird is so ready to go... we ran 2,200 miles in March. Dan and I
run our buses, alot.

I don't know where you will find a FC like this, maybe one of the
Miller brothers...

Good Luck!

This is wise not to want to add 20/25K in repairs and upgrades,
But for under 30K is doubtful,
Try reading the Obituaries, Bankrupty, or divorce settlements.
A bargain could be had at someone elses' misfortune

I know of a 1991 SP36 that can be had for $40,000 that meets all of
your criteria (dash air AND primus works) except of course its not a
rear bath.
