Color Camera
My background is a double E degree from Hopkins and I
own Alarm Company of Maryland. We have been in business for 30 years and a GE Kalitel dealer for the last 18 years and install about 100 cameras a month. We do most of the banks in Maryland and for severl penal institutions and businees in the East. This is why they make a day/night camera. If you need any addtional information check the GE web page. http://WWW.ge.com or http://www.securitypro.com --- Blair > > > Is this a judgement call or is it based on facts? > What's your background that you feel that you can > make a blanket statement on > the technical aspects of a surveillance camera? When you installed the color camera, did you also install a small color monitor or did you feed it direct to your color TV up front? Were you able to reuse the existing cabling or did you have to run new cable? Finally, how much did you have to lay out on the project? Thanks for the update. Hi Dick,
First, there is a guy on this list who has much more savvy than I do on this stuff.. He's professional. That said, and for what it's worth, I used the existing cable but had to hard wire a new power line back to the camera from the front switch. The old CRT was shot so I replaced it with a good quality LCD and replace the old clear cover plate with a new one. My costs are not currant, I did this a year ago ..now, the camera and lens can be purchased for less than $200 and the LCD will be in the $400 range to get quality... For the money, it's a real hard system to beat.
