Is the "flying saucer" TV antenna repairable? Is it worth repairing?
Mine raises and lowers as expected, but the rotator doesn't seem to
rotate. (At least, not all the time and not reliably.)

Any suggestions?

Eventually, I'll get satellite TV, but for now I'm using the
broadcast antenna or cable if available.

I had a very similar issue with mine. I pulled the unit down from
the roof and opened it up. What I determined was that a rectangular
plate that sits below the styrofoam disk that the antenna elements
are embedded into has worn out. The plate slides over the rotor
shaft and the shaft has a flat spot ground into it, the plate has
a 'D' shaped hole in it so that the plate is locked to the shaft.
This then allows the styrofoam disk to be tightened down to the
plate with the large fiber washer from the top of the disk. The
plates "D" shape wore out on mine so instead of being 'D' shaped it
was just like someone drilled a hole through it. I made up some
small aluminum plates and drilled smaller holes and then hand filed
them out into a 'D' shape and then riveted them to the top and
bottom of the larger plate and then re-assy the unit.

I also found that one of the wires that was solded to one of the
elements was busted and repaired that as well. It works fine now.
