If you get up into the Riverside area, try The Recovery Room RV Interiors
(951) 688-4829 I've seen their work (family owned business, and they do all the work...Flexsteel Dealer) Maybe give them a call, and they can give you a rough estimate??? Kevin McKeown Yorba Linda, CA 1986 38' PT [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Anyone know of a place in San Diego area to have carpet replaced and
also install wood flooring in kitchen & bath? Holland Motors here says they figure 45 hours @ $110 an hour for carpet installation, plus the carpet. Sounds extremely high to me. Suggestions? Mark 88 PT40 San Diego (overcast) 65 degrees |

I did a complete wodd floor in my fc and it took about a week.....a good finish
carpenter is what you need. The wood requires pleanty of cuts. Hard wood thu out sure makes cleaning a breeze....just sweep it out the door. 110 an hour is out of line.... mw 88 fc --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Curt Sprenger wrote: > Does sound extremely high to me too. Mark;. We took our Coach to Holland because they are a Bluebird
dealer to have our brakes redone.. They didnt do it, but simply farmed it out to whom-ever.. We were not happy!! As to the flooring, up here in Buena Park is "Pats RV Carpet & FlooringV", (800-670-PATS. 8114 Orangethorp. Ca. 90621 ) Item that Pat reminded me was that some coaches may have dry rot in the plywood subflooring! Prices,(Over the Phone)from $1500 to $4-5,000.or more, depending. I have also been looking at some carpeting at Home Depot called "LEGATO", a Do It Yourself type. Sort of like 18" squares that are laid like tile. has a special rubberized backing that will not move or shift, and dirty or stained squares can be individually replaced. I think it just goes on the flat, and would be real fun to wrap the doghouse, or the stairs. (Wonder if anyone has taken up the carpet, smoothed the floor, and applied the new Epoxy garage floor paint)?? Interesting Idea!! I've done several, and 45hours is a bit low if it is ALL removed and
replaced, but in the ballpark. If you find someone to do it for less, and who knows what they're doing, go for it. The hourly rate can be lower at other places and that might help. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net http://www.millercoachworks.com --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "soxmark2000" <MDahlAssc@a...> wrote: > Anyone know of a place in San Diego area to have carpet replaced and > also install wood flooring in kitchen & bath? It may take longer than 45 hours but you won't be spending anywhere near $110/hr. My wife did the installation of our carpet and tile. We shopped carefully for the carpet and tile, found some bargains. We're retired, so time wasn't a problem. Check out her work at <http://home.earthlink.net/~jaowensjr/>. Others have offered alternatives near your location if you have neither the time nor inclination to DIY. Jim Owens 77 FC33SB (Gas) Lake of the Ozarks, MO |

Yeah, might try it "Do It Yourself"... Worst that can happen is a job
that may have to be redone. BUT, all the prelim work will be done.. I dont suppose that it is exactly Rocket Science to pull up the old carpet, and remove some 10 million staples... BTW, I once helped build a laminated hull sailboat that was glued, and staples held it togather till the glue dried.. A (church key) Beer Can Opener, sharpened, was great to pull those staples..
