Even though the company is going to cease operations, they were prompt
about getting me the rv12 replacement motor. I even figured out how to
put it all back together without calling anyone!!!

Leroy- that's why I was really wanting to keep the Kool-O-Matic-moves a
bunch of air, relatively noise free.

I received my spare today also.
Kool O Matic is privately owned. When I ordered my spare the owner took the
order. In his words, he is closing down the company after 43 years due to
competition from overseas and inferior plastic products. He stated if he could
not compete with a quality product he elected to get out of the business. That's
to bad because the fan works well and is quiet. My Fantastic fan in the bathroom
sound like a small radio controlled airplane.

Bob, do you have a fan over your stove? That is where mine is located. It
has 3 speeds and currently is moving lots of air with minimal noise.

Bob, at JC Whitney, you got an exact replacement of the original. Were you
able to wire it with your wall switches?
Mine is in need of replacement, also. I wonder which unit moves the most
air?

Ernie When I had my 79 FC I replaced the fan in the living room & the
one in the kitchen with a fantastic fan. I would say the fantastic moves more
air than the ones with the lights around them. I installed mine & still kept
the lights around them. It worked fine. The fantastic also has reverse to pull
air out or in.They also have a two or three speed to them. I just forget
which it has. I put a cover over the top of them so you could leave the open
while driving & you wouldn't get any rain in if you went away & left them open.
I liked the looks of the lights too

Not familiar with the Kool O Matic. Is that similar to the one in my
bath that has the lights around the edge?

Well, I don't know Bob. My Kool O Matic is over the galley stove and has two
speeds. I don't have any lights on mine. I put a sliding mirror on mine to cover
the vent.
My motor has a sticker on it that says Kool O Matic. My bath fan is a Fantastic
with no lights and is noisy.

No, mine came with just a vent over the stove, but I found 12v mounted
in the edge of vent, so put in a Fantastic fan.
Just wondering on the bath thing. Mine had lights around the edge with
light switch, fan switch and lid lift. The fan and lift went south and
found the same thing at JC Whitney for 140 bucks. Just wondering if it
was called a Kool Matic.
Would have gotten a Fantastic, but wanted the lights around the edges.

Bob, it is not a Kool-o-matic. I had two of the fans like you are
talking about in my Bird. I put a Fantastic Fan in the bath and
replaced the vent with lights in the front because I like being able to
turn the lights on from the pilot seat.
