Cat 3208 Service Location
Hi All,
My 1988 35FC with a Cat 3208 has sprung a leak at the rear main
seal. It is currently at Carter Catepiller in Fredericksburg, VA and
they tell me that they are not equipped to handle this type of heavy
duty work. Any suggestions between Richmond and DC would be most
appreciative. It is leaking about 5 qts oil in 275 miles, needless to
say my car and tow dolly are a mess. Reply via the group or to me
directly at patches@...
Thanks,

No personal references, but if no one else has any, you can follow
this link to the Cat dealer site - click Servicing a 'truck engine',
enter Virginia and hit 'Find'.

http://www.cat.com/cda/framed/frameset?m...tId=145024

It will then list all their authorized dealers in the state that
supposedly service truck engines. Although since Carter is listed,
sounds like they just don't want to work on a "motor home". Better
call ahead to verify if the others will.

Good luck.

Ask the dealer to give you the caterpillar 800 number, call them and they will
find you a caterpillar dealer or TEPS dealer to work on your engine.

Check the breather tube and canister, there is a screen mesh and the
down tube almost touches the ground when dumped, Could be plugged with
gunk.. Inside doghouse driver side valve cover.
