Gas Leak

This morning I discovered a gas leak! The unit on the LPG tank (which
has a glass gauge) was leaking. I tightened the four screws and it
appears to have stopped leaking. I tested it with soapy water and
around all the connections and all seems to be well. I can still smell
gas a couple of hours since I "fixed" the leak. Can anyone advise?

I had ( or have) the same problem with my tank. It seems to come and
go. The guage has both a gasket and an o-ring. In order to replace them
you have to emty your tank. It is very hard to obtain the parts. No RV
dealer or propane shop will sell to you unless you are a licensed gas
fitter. I di not try BB.

Hi ????????

There area areas that can be worked around, this is not one of them. Get a
certified Tech out to replace the remote gauge and sender as well as all
gaskets and test the ASME tank fittings.

I was told one time to always be sure to open or close the valve all the way.
If I had a propane gas leak I would close the valve all the way and seek help
from a qualified and certified professional.

I agree with the previous posts, get a professional to check it out.
