Verizon Broadband Card
Hi,

Just changed Verizon cards to Broadband Access USB720.
The speed is better than the old card and has a pin
that will except a antenna ( I hope ). Does anyone know
of an antenna that will fit and where to make puchase ?
Verizon said they do not sell that type of antenna.
Thanks and keep'm rolling,

I purchased the external antenna from Verizon when I purchased the
USB720 modem. The pin is for an antenna cord -- first a short adaptor
that has (I guess) a standard connector on the other end -- then the
wire to the antenna. The short adaptor has a tag printed with "Mode
PCCAB 720" and "DC 070104" on one side and "Compatible with Verizon
Wireless 720" on the other.

You can order the connector from Verizon, if you can't find a similar
adaptor from one of the Cell Phone appliance sources.

The external antenna that I also purchase does not have any
identifying marks, but it is about 6" tall with a magnetic base with
a 6 foot cable (marked "Reack RG-174" in fine print on the wire).

I usually set the antenna by one of the windows, but if necessary
(due to poor reception), I'll open the window and stick the antenna
to the side of the coach outside.

Since I found that some locales don't have great cell service, I'm
looking into getting a more 'serious' external antenna to permanently
mount to the roof -- but I haven't selected one yet.
