On your request for sound bites: Many coaches, plus one specific
request for a "BMC with Cummins C8.3 300 HP and Allison MD-3060R
(1993-1998)"

1. Who are you, what coach do you own, where do live, and why do you
need this info?

2. What will you do with the recording(s)?

3. Recorded from the drivers seat, or from right over the bed, which
is right over the Cummins, or in the bath over the trans??

4. What road speed, what engine RPM, what trans gear, uphill,
downhill, or level? Accelerating, deccelarating, or steady MPH?

5. If we all use use different recording equipment, from different
locations inside the coach, in different RPMs/gears/road conditions,
then what good is it anyway to record this?

6. Do you work for a liberal environmental group trying to shut down
motorhome travel - but have no clue as how to gather usefull data?

7. Or are you just totally clueless as to how independent motorhome
owners may think, and as how to ask ask for usefull data that you may
use only for your own use, IE: a hearing problem like tinitus?

8. At this point, I do not trust you one bit. I reccommend that no
Bird owner co-operates with this trivial pursuit without a
documented need. It has a ugly feel to it.

Dan 94 BB BMC 37', with the cummins/allison 3060, NM, and if you want
data come see me in person, convince me of the need, and take a ride
with me - if I let you. Then take usefull measurements at a set road
speed, incline/decline, RPM/gear/ steady travel, or
acceleration/decellearation.

My personal opinion.

I've never cared for this guy's hit/run/no followthrough approach in past
postings, but I do recognize that there are "bus sound nuts" out there. See for
example:

Ben runs the Yahoo group BusSounds, which has 3 members...

3 members - wow, I am totally overwhelmed.

I am blown away at his scientific approach to sound bites at set
rpm/sound recording gear/road conditions/location inside the coach
etc.

Same equipment to capture the sound bite under similar situations -
yep valid data indeed.

I will go park my POV 200 yards off the interstate, and then have my
wife drive the coach past me while I record it. That will give this
scientific endeveavor some valid sound bite data for his data pusuit.

Yep, valid sound bites indeed. Lovely data capture.
