We just returned from Maine to find the starter batteries too low to
start the engine. I know I can start the motor by using the emergency
switch on the dash, but my question is, if I leave this switch on
while the bus is stored, will the inverters keep both banks (house and
starters) of batteries charged?

Also, does anyone know how/if the generator battery is charged by the
inverters?

Thank you!

Allen and Conny,
When the coach is plugged in, my understanding is that only the house batteries
are being charged unless you have both banks selected on the dash. Then I
believe all 10 are being charged. All are also charged by the alternator. Your
manual is the ultimate authority on that. I had original batteries..and had to
replace everything but my generator battery right after I bought the coach this
spring. Went with all AGM's at 250/per. Brad Barton 00LXiDFW

The chassis battery switch on the dash can be left on
when in storage. The converter will trickle charge the
chassis battery properly, according to Bennie. On my
coach the generator battery dash switch is a momentary
switch which means that the gennie battery is not charged
during storage. I purchased an Xantex Echo charger to
charge the gennie battery from the converter.

Thanks Brad! We bought our BB just 2 months ago and we are still
learning the systems. Our coach had 3 defective house gell cells
upon delivery which were replaced during the PDI. I'm not sure the
starters were checked though...I'll throw the switch tonight and see
how they do.

Thanks David! I knew you would know this one (you probably have the
answers to the filters and belts question I posted :-))

Where did you get the power for the Xantex in the genset battery
compartment?

Allen,

I tapped into the load center at the lower right dash.

As far as filters, Rich's list is pretty impressive. I have
one addition for the genny air filter:

NAPA 2222
