Hydraulic hose splices

Hydraulic hose splices
One of my leveler hoses has a split very close to the fitting at the
jack. I bought a new hose from HWH, and set out to replace it. The
problem, though, is that the other end of the hose at the actuator is
unaccessible for removal. The other three leveler hoses are easily
accessed, but the one I need is blocked out by a frame member...typical
Murphy's law. Attempting to disassemble this entire area so I can get
to the fitting is more project than I want to undertake, so I am
wondering if there is some way I could leave the existing hose attached
at that end, cut it at a more accessible spot, and then somehow splice
in the new hose to the remaining old piece with some sort of fitting.
Anyone think this is at all possible?

I would ask HWH.

I just replaced the high pressure hydraulic suspension hose on my 85 300TD
Mercedes.
The fittings at the ends are in two parts and can be unscrewed. It would be
possible to do
a splice should such a fitting be available in a union. I don't know if they
are. When I took
the Mercedes fittings to hydraulic hose shops they looked at me as if I was
showing them
a space alien so I suspect screw apart high pressure hydraulic hose fittings may
not be
readily available around here.

I do not know what yours look like but aircraft hoses have a jacket that screws
over the outside of the hose and the connecting point screws inside. No big
deal. Try to match one up at http://www.aircraftspruce.com. The difference is the flair
fitting if that is what you have is different on aircraft. I think the flair is
100 degrees. It might entail changing the union.
