On the road
Good morning everyone:
Charolette and I are leaving this pretty, sleepy City RV Park in Nebraska and heading homeward bound. We have shared quality time with Birders here, Jim O'Connor and Pen Sand 83PT36 and Steve Crown 88PT40 XXV. Dinner, conversation and cocktails last night, was great! Anyone traveling to the Omaha Neb. area, I would recommend this RV Park. Big rigs are not a problem, there is 50 and 30 Amp hookups with water and a dump station. The quietness of the Park nestled right on the Missouri river and $15.00 per night price tag makes it even better. Was going to visit George Witt in Lincoln but last I know he and family were in Texas some where. The green of the grass is so vivid this morning, the squirrels plying tag with robins is fun to watch and the steaks and service at a restaurant called "Johnnies" was simply the best yet. A soft breeze is blowing and finally warm weather brings the feeling of complete ease. We have had 3 Bird's together here and the visit has been wonderful. So on the road we go with sadness of parting with friends but looking on down the road and the adventures that may bring. On the road
Ralph,
What is the name of the RV park? There used to be a Johnnies Steak House in South Omaha by the stock yards back when I was in High School at Boys Town, I wonder if it is connected to that one? If you haven't left yet, take a short trip out to Boys Town and see the beautiful setting, I forgot it is now called Girls and Boys Town, as it is co-ed now, it is quite the place, even if I am partial to it. My stay at Boys Town back in the late fifties and early sixties was a turning point, for the better, in my life. To get there go west on US 6 (DODGE STREET) and you can't miss it. On the road
Ralph, I talked to a couple in Ohio last weekend at Eldora Speedway
that where on there maden voyage. Had nothing but wonderfull thing to say about the help you gave them on there PT40(Including helping him get it started that day over the phone). I think the name was Marc Longwell or Longley? Made me wish I had called you when we brought ours home for some assistance. With all the money we have spent so far, don't think we can do that now.(Learning the hard way) Have safe travels! John:
We were at Hayworth Park in Bellevue. Take 370 East and when you see the toll bridge turn right into the park. It is not far from Q,L and Dodge streets. On the road
Hi Jeff:
Mark and Tina Longworth in Ohio are really nice people and their son is one outstanding young man. Mark has a shop to die for there. It is large enough to pull 7 or 8 Birds into. Am happy that you all met, would liked to have been there. They found a really nice '85PT40 with fresh paint and interior work done nicely. It has or did have a few issues but those were taken care of and he is pulling the starter on the Coach and having it re built at a local shop. Mark was telling me a little about being at the race. Instead of being out on the bleachers in the cold, they watched the race form the ease of the salon in the Coach, toasty warm. On the road
Good morning to everyone:
Charolette and I want to take this opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas to all Birder's and Friends. We presently are at the information center in Ark near Ft Smith where we overnighted. Will pull out soon finding our way to Fayetteville to spend Christmas with Daughter and Charolette can get a granddaughter fix! Just started raining here and may see some snow tonight where we will snuggle Ruff Diamond in for the stay. The Coach is performing very well save the cruise control lost. Thank goodness for a 15 1/2 inch stick to rest the leg from time to time. Stay safe and warm and grab on to a loved one or the entire family and hold tight and give them a hug. Hi Ralph,
Mary Christmas to you and Charolette. Are you going to the "Q" Rally in January?
