pyrometer quite

The indicator on the pyrometer guage has not moved this year. Last
year it wouldn't stop moving. Do I start with the sensor/sender?

Do you know where the sender is on that cute lil keeety CAT? :~) (VBG!)

My sender was pretty rotten but still working when the new exhaust
went on. New sender was under 20.

Dan:

The sender is located to the rear of the bum out at the rear of the dog
house on my '85. I had to repair the wire going to the sender once. Also
the face plate on the gauge will move and bind the needle in the gauge. My
sender is directly located in the top of the turbo exhaust piping screwed
into the top of the pipe.

I have never replaced one so have not done any research for a replacement.
I don't know if Napa has it or not. Benny at BB may be able to tell you.

Dan,

I had to replace the complete Pyro system on my unit. When the
exhaust flange broke it allowed the exhaust to burn the wires to the
thermocouple. Those are calibrated wires and cannot be just spliced as
I had tried to do. Then the pyro gauge in mine was obsolete and I had
to get a new gauge. We ended up running a complete new wire front to
rear and install a new sender and gauge. I got the whole system from
Commercial Speedometer in West Sacramento, CA. They have the
experience in repairing and installing these things that NAPA will
never have. Check a local speedometer or instrument shop.
