I ran the 1973 FC (converted to 3208 NA Cat) over the scales at the
local truck stop. The numbers are as follows Steer Axle 7620, Drive Axle 16020, Gross weight 23640. This was loaded with fuel pretty much as I drive it. The gross was what I expected but I was thinking the steer axle would have been higher and the drive axle lower. I can't think there was a error but I would have expected that diesel engine would have pushed the steer axle higher. Does this sound "bout right" to you other FC owners? Yes, there was if not a full water tank it was 3/4 and a full 110
gallons of diesel which is about midway along the length of the bus. The gross weight is what I expected. My question really is how the steer axle could be as low as it is with the 3208 hanging in front of the axle. I was expecting maybe 10 on the steer and 13 on the drive axles. > > --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "bubblerboy64" > wrote: > > > > It's a 31ft > > > > > > > > > > --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "bubblerboy64" > > > wrote: > > > > > > > > I ran the 1973 FC (converted to 3208 NA Cat) over the scales at > > the > > > > local truck stop. Can some one give me an idea of the "ready to roll" weights on a couple
of these coaches. The ones I am interested in are the SP, PT 40, and PT 38, and PT 36. My reason for asking? Just would like to have a ruff HP to weight ratio. My Napper is just at 12 tons with 200hp and I'd like to do a little number crunching. I know the HP ratings of the various machines, don't know the weight. Not looking for exact numbers just a ball park to get an idea. John Heckman central Pa 1973 FC |
