Scott, do you have the manual or automatic change over switch?

My Kohler generator has stopped making juice. Engine part is fine.
Ideas to troubleshoot?

Scott,
You made sure that the breakers on the generator are not tripped?

Scott, it is fairly easy to inspect the brushes and leads so have you
checked them to see if they are good?

Yup. Check those brushes. If they're good, check the voltage regulator next.

If it is a transformer regulated generator then check the taps on the
transformer. Mine started making 80 volts instead of 120. After
much searching i grabbed the wires and shook one loose from the sapde
connector. Fixed that and was back in business at 120 volts.

It's down at the shop now, same guys who rebuilt the Kohler in my 82
FC (I knew it was bad when I bought the coach). I am sure they will
find it, I just hope it isn't the same problem that killed the other
one.
