Questions for 93 Wanderlodge owners
Hi all, I have been looking at the 93 at Parliament and was hoping that
someone could help me out. Do the air vents above the driver and
passenger, below the instrument panel, blow A/C air or just cabin air?
How many, and what type of house batteries came stock. Also does the
Primis heat system heat the domestic hot water heater and if so does it
work well? And finally are there any common weaknesses in the 93
models? Thanks

The upper vents are on the coach A/C. You can install a switch in
that circuit to disable the A/C clutch and use them just as a fan on
cool days when AC is not needed. I opted to install a 12V fan on
each side that can be used when the coach is parked instead.

There are also a set of vents at knee level on both sides. This is
the coach heater vents, and you can also open the outside fresh air
vent which pulls air from below the front bumper via the dash switch
if you just want outside air.

My coach came with 8 GEL Cells, I have seen other configs as well.
My 8 new AGM's just came in today, so will be converting over to AGM
this eek.

The Primus can heat the domestic hot water. You control it from the
front Primus control panel by pressing the button right next to the
on button. You must have the summer/winter valve in the summer mode
because when you press that button it changes what temp sensor it
uses to control the primus. Normally it would use the temp probe
located in the kitchen area to control internal temp, but when you
select hot water it uses the hot water heater temp probe to tell the
primus to cut on or off. So it should be in summer mode to do it.
And yes, it makes the water plenty hot for my taste.

You can not get a better coach than a BB, and I have owned SOB's in
the past.

Questions for 93 Wanderlodge owners
Thanks Michael, are the 8 batteries group-31 or 27? Are they in 4 and 4
trays? Are they 12 volt? Are the 1992 and 1993 coach's systems mostly
the same?

Mine are Group 31 configed in two banks of 4 batteries each, one
slide tray ontop of the other. All all cabled to the same lug behind
the battery slide out tray. The BB use a 12 volt system, not a 24
volt like some other SOB's. So all the batteries are connected
postitive to positive and negative to negative.

There are very little differences between the 92 and 93.

Questions for 93 Wanderlodge owners
Marty,

I have a 91. Randy Dupree of this forum has a 93 however on mine air on top
vents, house heat or fresh air on botton. Primus heats water. will also
allow you to heat water from engine heat. if you dont have documentation
hollar. Mark Dexter of Mardex sold them. Steve Birttles of this forum has
parts
and can advise. It may take a tad of work to get them right however Chuck
Hallem, a long time engineer with BB advised me to keep it. His opinion is
that
is was one of the best systems out there. Usually the only problems are
replacing bad pumps (I think there are 3) and it is a wonderful heat.

Questions for 93 Wanderlodge owners
Marty:

I have a 93 PT40 WBWL. Top vents are only AC, if it is even working,
as the system used the old freon. Bottom vents are heater, or outside
air.

My coach has the group 31, 8 batteries for coach, and 3 more starting
batteries. The group 31 are 4 in top tray, and 4 in bottome tray.
Original systems had 2 battery chargers, but most have been replaced
with single units that can charge gels, wet, or AGM batteries.

The Primus system does not heat the domestic water. The engine can
heat the water while on the road, but the water heater is electric.

I do not think there are any weakness' in the unit. The only prior
weakness was the Primus system, as there was no support. This has
changed with Stephen Brittles helping us out with problems with these
units. I have had my unit for 5 years.

Ofcourse as the years get on, preventative maint gets to be a
concern. Like alternators (most never fix belts or alternators on the
front of the engine) , belts, the cooling hose to the compressor, and
radiator replacement. As you can see these are items mostly related
to engine compartment.

Hope this helps, Parliment is a good outfit. I have had my unit
serviced and body shop repairs done with great satisfaction.

William,

In the 1992 model the Primus does heat the dometic water. Are you
sure that it does not in the 1993? It requires that the front
drivers Primus control have the Hot Water button depressed, and the
summer/winter valve be in summer mode. Mine heats the water plenty
good, just tested it the other day in prep for out thanksgiving trip.

Michael,

You are right. I have a 93 (For Sale) and the Primus does heat the water and
does it well. Switch in overhead has to be in summer position if you want water
heating only. During winter, it heats both the drivers side of the coach and
the water.
