USB 720 Modem
Hi,
I don't use that card but a PC5750 card from Verizon . It works great and easy to set up. I'm in San Antonio and will be moving west. I set up D-Link DIR 450 portable wireless router (the card goes in it) and have wifi'd the bus. Secured wifi and range is great. We use 2 notebooks (no hogging fights)and will use wireless printer.I can use the notebook in the neighbour's RV. As for antennae. Lots out there but ?? Try Google. USB 720 Modem
I have the same EVDO Modem from Verizon. I ordered an external
antenna from Verizon when I bought the modem. It plugs into the hole under the little flap next to the green light. The antenna is about 6" tall with a magnetic base and about a 12' or 15' cord. Often it works just fine sitting next to a window. (As I type this, I have all bars on (best reception) and the antenna is sitting about a 6 inches from the glass.) Often, I just set the antenna on the window sill. If the reception isn't all that good, I'll put the antenna out the window and stick it to the side of the coach -- moving it around sometimes will "find" a sweet spot. In a really bad reception area, I've put the antenna on the top of the coach. That usually does just fine. I've considered getting a cell phone signal amplifier (it picks up all cell signals with an external antenna and rebroadcasts them inside the coach). But I haven't gotten to the point where I really need it. Often I get a better signal on the EVDO modem than I get on my Verizon cell phone. Go to this website, they can fix you up with everything, including
advise- give them a call, they know the answers that Verizon store personnel don't have a clue about. http://www.3gstore.com/ MoreyZ 99LXi41 Georgia |

USB 720 Modem
Hi Don,
This is just what I have... A Verizon 720. I also purchased a Wilson booster & 12" antenna ( works best with 4" x 14" metal under the antenna). Use both daily or each time I use the laptop. It seems funny that the poorest signal is at home howerver; it is still better with that without the use of the booster/antenna. If you need any other info., just let us know !
