Air compressor and "that hose"

Scott..Check out my thread on the WOO forum..I have a 1991 WLWB with an 8V92
and I just checked the same thing you are planning. With my coach I could
see and touch the alternator and the compressor but did not have enough room to
service them. In my coach there were two plates..the first was easily removed
and allowed the visual but the second plate continued towards the back of
the coach and would require removal of plumbing and disassembly of the bed to
get at it. Let me know if yours is similiar and how you are going to handle

This weekend, I am going to open up the hatch in the bedroom in an
effort to look at my air compressor and the associated hose that has
been the topic of so much discussion around here.

My questions is this: when I open the hatch up, where is the
compressor? I have only had it open once, and that was briefly just to
see if I could get it open. As I remeber, the exhaust pipe crosses
just below it and the alternator is directly below. Can someone direct
me the the compressor and the hose?

On the 6v92, the air compressor is on the fwd passenger side of engine between
the Alt
and exhaust. While you are in there, clean or replace the compressor's air
filter.

Scott,

Stick you head down in the hatch hole into the engine compartment The engine
air compressor is just forward of the cross member. Air compressor forward
hose (towards the front of the coach) runs to the curb side of the engine
block and above the starter. The rear hose runs to the manifold or head on
the curb side of the engine. Here is a link to a procedure I put together
some time ago. Check section "D". Let me know if you have any questions.

Mine only has one hatch that I can find. It is big enough to work
through. I have twin beds, so that probably makes it easier.

As I think about air compressor access...Someone on the sites cut a second
access panel to gain better access to the air compressor. Hopefully they
will chime in here, or point us to a doc. addressing the creation of the
second access panel.

Curt not sure if this is relevant but both Randy and I cut away some plywood
to provide greater access when we were working on our alternators. After
removing the metal plate we found that we could cut away some of the plywood
flooring closer to the passenger side outer wall. It was a square section
approx 6" X 6"
