One attribute about this forum that attracts member signups is the
high number of registered members. I think the membership totals are
double the 'soon to close', WanderlodgeHyjacked forum but I would bet
the traffic is close to the same. To read the post on this forum you
must be a member. Over on WlHyjacked the messages are free to view
even for non members.

On any given search engine the content rich hyjacked forum will show
up as a hyperlink from repair search terms. Because this Kind forum
hides message content to non members, yahoo now hides the message
content from search engines to protect the wishes of the membership.
I think a more visible forum will attract better content.

Gregory:

Where did you get the information that the other forum was "hyjacked"?
I throught from reading John Finn's post that the owners decided to
offer some additional features to their users that was not available on
Yahoo. I could be wrong but that is what I thought I read. If the
owners decide to go another direction I don't see how that is hijacking.

Either way that forum is not closing. According to John the
information will still be available on that site but you will not be
able to post.

I agree the information is too valuable to lose but according to John
that is not the case.

That's the way I deduce the situation. There are a certain group of people that revel in 'outrage' for the any perceived slight. Very curious.

You may visit, but not post, unless you join. Once you join, it's much like this "list-serve" but the hosting software has many features that the Yahoo Groups list does not offer.

My wife has been active for several years in a group using similar "forum" software and it allows a great deal of origination and makes it easy for reading individual topics.

I know that there was some falling out several years ago between a few key members of the two WL list-groups. I don't claim to understand the controversy -- nor do I even know what it was about (or care). Personally, I've been a member of both lists -- and have participated in them -- since my first wannabe interest in getting a Wanderlodge. I plan to continue to do so.

Right now, the other list seems less active than this one in the quantity of messages -- but that may simply be a perception due to the different way the two systems are accessed.

I am catching up on my email after my hip replacement and my father passing away. I admit I sit back and read a lot knowing I can search ALL of the archives to find information when I do need it. At RATS I can not speak for the other rallies, but Maci was there saying how they wanted to support all of us and bring the wanderlodge back as a family. What I going on with all this crap about different forums is that we are imploding on each other instead of growing. Perhaps that has been part of the problem all along as well as quality standards at the plant.
if we want to put our American made buses back where the belong. The implosion and negativity will not do it.If this post gets me booted then I have just proved my point.
