Bruce, I listen little to what the seller has to say. The curious
thing about buying a rv is year and model pretty much set the
price. Condition and character are factors that narrow buyers
choice. The character of 'this bus' and 'this seller' are kinda BB
typical, dont you think.

you bring up a good method to get a feel of the sellers interest by
looking at his site. for others that want to investigate an
advertisement, look at the address script for the hyperlink that
Bruce sent. Remove all the verbage after dot com including the /. go
to that site and there you can navigate back to the advert and past
the sellers personality.

This coach was listed on the net in July 07 when we started looking. I
considered flying
out to see it. At the time he was in the $90k range. This is what he had to say
about it

"The Bluebird is a great deal at 89,000 it has low mileage and a real lot of
replacement
parts, New propane, system, New Tires, New Refrigerator, outdoor Grill, New
camera
system, Newer batteries,

My bus is in Las Vegas, I guarantee you won't find a cleaner Bluebird"

After reading what I could in these forums and talking to others we decided to
hold. In
October we found a very nice 83 FC and glad we went this way. It suits our needs
better
for now.

"Highway Star" sure looks and sounds like a real nice coach. The coach was
listed on the
Net for a while and disappeared... I seem to recall seeing it listed as sold in
his garage
sale inventory.

It appears that Ed has (had) a number of very nice toys and it looks like the
all were in
good shape.

I won't deny that the Bird is pretty good looking, but there is a good
deal of 'hype' in many of his other toys for sale also. The 1983
Corvette would be *really, really* rare, since no 1983 Corvettes were
ever sold to the public! Out of the 44-47 hand-built engineering
prototypes (depending on which 'official' source), they were all
destroyed except one, which now resides in the National Corvette
Museum in Bowling Green, KY. None ever made it into the public. (Ah,
finally a use for the trivia collected during all those years of
Corvette racing! Brings back fond memories. Right Mike McMahan?)

It says 41 feet -- but the coach is supposed to be 40' (42' came out in '95).

It says 10 tires -- but there are only 8 on the coach. 

The price is the key. If it's offered at a competitive price (something well under $100k), then it may be a good buy.

I was wondering if anyone else would pick up on that 83 Corvette
thing. He has an 82 Collectors Edition. I saw the one '83 years ago
before they built the museum, it used to be in the foyer of the
factory in Bowling Green.

I see nothing to indicate that his '90 has any leg up on our '90, for which we
paid $82.5K a year ago and might well have gotten for less. I said in another
post that I felt $75K was top of the market for a '90 these days.

I think every Bluebird owner should continue to talk the value of their quality Bluebird into the ground until they try to sell it. You will have established the value for the buyer. At that time, don't bother with records, upgrades, history or anything else because they aren't important and represent zero value. Just hand the buyer your money.
That is like purchasing stock in Big Joe's Burgers then telling all you friends the burgers taste like #$%$.
I also find it interesting that money spent jetting around kicking tires is never taken into the spending equation. The price of the bus. ???? I'm dense, I don't get it. Is it a deal or not??
I wouldn't tear up the coach in Las Vegas until you evaluate it in person. The guy may be nuts enough to have kept it in pristine shape. Based on what I have read on blog's that may be the case. It may be a jewel and it may not. I'm fix'n to talk to him for a friend. I will let you know what he says.

I spent about one hour on the phone with the owner. This is what I was told. He appears to be honest with lack of mechanical knowledge.
He knows little about a motor home. He sells guitars.
Price $80,000 wants to move it now. If it does not sell for that price he is likely to keep it and I don't blame him. He is the second owner. He purchased it from Holland, San Diego in 99. The original owner was a BB exec who kept it in NY for a sales tool. Supposedly it was loaded with all available options at the time. It was driven from NY to Ft. Valley. Since his ownership it has been driven cross country one time. The wife is the driver. The coach has been used primarily for business selling guitars parked with touring band coaches. He and his wife have slept in it twice since their ownership. He installed Joey bed clones, new inverter, new propane lines throughout, new reefer that has never been used, new monitor and camera. It has been garaged all its life
until it went to Vegas. Dry country. It has a tub and booth seating, a hydraulic motorcycle lift, tires are older but covered and lightly used. In addition to the regular power cord, a 100 foot special electrical cord is included. Owner will warrant that the engine is in good shape, does not leak oil and is otherwise ok. A potential purchaser still needs to have a good look. Sounds like it would be worth a trip. Who knows? If I was looking I would be on a plane tomorrow. I may be anyway if my friend gets real serious.
I have no interest in the above. Just trying to help a friend.
His Corvette is an 82 collectors edition. The web page is incorrect.
