Cat or Kitty +++ Name on BB
About noon, Wednesday this week, as I crossed the Colorado river from Needles CA to AZ., an 80's vintage bluebird was heading the other direction. The name had Cat or Kitty and some more words up on the front...sorry I don't have the exact name. Anyone on this site?

That would be us -- Trudy & Lisa -- in The Catbird Seat. We're working here in
Needles til the end of the month. We are at Desert View RV Resort this week and will move next door to the KOA next Friday. If you come back through, stop by and say hi. Headed up the CA coast (with a tank full of AZ diesel) to SF in June -- can't wait for cooler weather. -- TL Trudy Lundgren Lisa Wade 1985 PT 40 Ã The Catbird Seat 917-699-7757 139 Rainbow Drive, #3964 Livingston. Trudy & Lisa,
Thank you for your reply. I should be over there the week of May 25. I'll print out your information and have it with me. Will plan to stop by. We have a home about 4 miles north of the bridge, AZ side of the river. It always needs attention, and what an excuse to be over there and play on the river. Curt,
Reading your post brought back some long ago memories.
Back in 1963to65 I was with the 2nd. Armored Div. at Ft. Hood, Texas. In 1964 they moved about 100,000 men to the area around Needles &Blythe, Ca. and Parker, Az.for hot weather War Games. I was attached to 2nd Armored Division Headquarters to set up and maintain land line communications. We spent a couple months there. Had some great times on the river. One weekend just above Parker Dam the LA Boat Club was there and had boat races. Never seen boats run so fast. We werealso good about closing some of the local bars. I wouldn't be surprised if we have another Birder who was there.

Howard,
I enjoyed reading about your memories...always good. The boat races continue each year. Not sure who is making this happen. There were boat races at or near Lake Havasu City three weeks ago (perhaps an unknown city when you were in the area the 60's). Lake Havasu City is at the north end of Lake Havasu and as you know Parker dam backs up that lake, and Parker dam is about 20 miles south of the city. One boat race is run during the weekend of the Laughlin Harley Run at Laughlin NV. Many of my friends attend the Harley Run, then on Sunday we take a boat ride to the sand bar (eye candy island) for our annual eye sight checkup...you get the picture. That sand bar is about 6 or 7 miles north up into the river from the city. Do you recall names such as Blue Water, Sun Dance, Bad Knocks (spelling)...there are others, it's been many years since I've spent time on the Parker Dam to Parker AZ water way. I'll admit to frequenting a bar or more during those days. Great times. Yes, I'm sure there are a few Birders out that have spent time in the area. On Sun, May 18, 2008 at 8:06 AM, Howard O.
