Pete, wouldn't the "outie wheel" designate the steerable tag?

Is there anything special about this LXI? It says it's a Millennium Edition and they seem to be asking an awful lot for it. Not knowing much about the newer birds, I'm curious if this is a typical LXI or if it really is some special "Millennium Edition" and, if so, what this might have that a normal LXI would not. I love this coach. This is Darth Vader's bachelor pad. -Ryan '86 PT-40 8V92 |

It appears to be a single slide LXI. At Bird Connection, there are 2 LXI 43s (2001) with front slide (like this one) with asking prices (reduced) at $285K and $325K. A dual slide '01 is asking $379K -- and a LX 40 (not as fully featured) 01 is asking $279K with single slide.
So, the eBay unit might reasonably be priced somewhere near $250K (it says reserve not met) -- but I doubt that in the current market that it would sell for much over that if not somewhat (but not a lot) less. The Millennium Edition was built for Y2K. The "Millennium Limited Edition" appears to have a few upgraded features. The brochure on Vintage Birds shows Alpine audio-visual-GPS system, Proscan DVD player, and Datron DBS-4000 in-motion satellite dish as features not included in the "standard" LXI-43. I suppose that the special features of the M.E. might justify a slightly higher price. BTW, this is the first time I actually noticed, but on the 2000-2006 LXI, I see that the tag axle carries an 'outie' wheel instead of the deep dish as used on the previous WLs and as used on the 2009 prototype by CCW. Is there some advantage to one wheel arrangement vs. the other. Personally, I like the matching rear wheel look and I've always felt the outie tag wheel (on Prevost, MCI, etc.) looked awkward. I don't know about the 2009 model. Maybe Macy will enlighten us on this.

Not much different than any lxi. But the owner is not a typical BB
Owner. the plates are Montana and the coach is in Florida. I bet it says non smoking, no pets and is full of cat hair and cigarette tar. More like RuPaul's pad . Ah, I forgot about that feature. It would make sense for the wheel to be an outie so the pivot point could be centered over the tire...
Now, does that mean the 2009 doesn't have a steerable tag? Pete Masterson '95 Blue Bird Wanderlodge WBDA 42 El Sobrante CA "aeonix1@mac.com" On May 26, 2008, at 2:26 PM, "erniecarpet@aol.com" wrote:

Ryan,
Mine is a Millenium Issue, too, but I have maple instead of laminate cabinets and my TV and dash radio or not as advanced as those in the ad. The hall bath is a little different, but overall its pretty close to mine including the stainless steel package. I thought the Milleniums had a more stylish modern interior. Maybe they just stamped mine Millenium on the outside by mistake. BradBarton00LXiDFW bbartonwx@...

You know what, though, now that I think about it I'll bet they were m380s. That would explain things. I sure do like the setup & colors on that coach. I'll have to let it depreciate for a few more years, then track it down and buy it when diesel is $10 a gallon and the new owner doesn't drive it anymore. ;-) -Ryan '86 PT-40 8V92 |
