Cost of BirdBirds and Fuel

Cost of BirdBirds and Fuel
I was tired of the old thread, maybe we need to change the topic??...

I think "Chicken Little" has arrived on the Motorhome market.
No question sellers on the fringe of selling or changing their life
style have hastened their plans & have decided to sell, and their
timing is really terrible.
I think BB's are selling, but the inventory is growing faster than
the demand, thus a buyers market. A higher supply, Same as a
home/house.

But, if you are into traveling in a Motorhome, There is no better
solution than a used BlueBird. Actually it is still a real bargain.
Where else can you receive factory tech support and drawings e-faxed
the same day for your 20/30 year old Motorhome

For the many reasons, we all decided, to arrive at a decision to
purchase a Bird, Those reasons are still valid, even more so now in
this economy, with rising costs of motels, restaurants, airfare etc.
We feel every day, we travel in the Bird, we save money.

If you made a trip and used 500 gallons of fuel last year ,
It will only cost just over $500 more to make this same trip today.
So if you can just eek out 20% increase in fuel, all other costs are
about the same.
We will continue to travel, "NOW" , it will not be less expensive
next year. The "Good Old Days" are Today.

Bill's beer is 1/2 full, well said. go 1/2 the distance and stay
twice as long. Getting the bus there is the changed cost variable. I
bet I will learn how to relax, hike, fish and explore now that go go
go has a proven cost.

I hear it ALL the time. You must have money. How can yu afford to travel around in that old bus. For those who really want to know, I can show. My trips turn out 1/2 to 2/3 what my peers pay, traveling in the subcompact and lodging at Motel 6 and I'm having a hell of alot more fun parked under a tree with a happy family that has a familiar place to sleep at night. With three roof A/C' s and hard sides to keep the bears out, I wish Iwas a full timer already!
On the flats at 10 to 11 mpg and climbing the rockies at 7.3. Not to bad for a bought and paid for ride. I'm afraid she'll out live diesel supply...it will still make a good stationary home, when that happens, NEVER!

Yup. That's a bargain. A cheap hotel will run you double that and you
still have to fill up the car, buy expensive restaurant or hotel food
vs cooking your own, etc.

I was in a Jeep dealership last week and folks were stoppin in for
the advertised $2.99 per the gallon / 3 year promo. I am amazed
that fuel at $3.00 per the gallon is an attractive sales point. when
diesel returns to $4.00 per the gallon we are all gonna be excited.
Spending and economics is a science of emotions. this plan to rachet
the fuel prices to a happy new high shows just how predictable we
all are.

Mario, I am taking your advice and making my weekend trips a full 4
